Dick Morris again falsely claimed Clinton said Chelsea "was jogging around the World Trade Center on 9/11"

Syndicated columnist and Fox News contributor Dick Morris and his wife, Eileen McGann, falsely asserted in a column that Sen. Hillary Clinton "said that Chelsea [Clinton] was jogging around the World Trade Center on 9/11 and happened to duck into a coffee shop when the airplanes hit. She said that this move saved Chelsea's life." In fact, Hillary Clinton made no such claim.

Daniel Pipes relied on disputed LA Times article to revive Obama-Muslim falsehood

On FrontPageMag.com, Daniel Pipes purported to consider whether Sen. Barack Obama was "ever a Muslim or seen by others as a Muslim." But in support of his statement that "available evidence suggests Obama was born a Muslim to a non-practicing Muslim father and for some years had a reasonably Muslim upbringing," Pipes cited a March Los Angeles Times article, critical parts of which have been challenged by the Chicago Tribune.

Horowitz's FrontPageMag.com yet to correct false Princeton assault story

FrontPageMag.com, the "online magazine" of the David Horowitz Freedom Center, posted an
excerpt from a New York Sun
article published that day detailing allegations by a Princeton University student who claimed he had been
assaulted because of his conservative views. However, while the Sun updated its story to report that Nava
admitted to police that "he fabricated the assault," FrontPageMag.com has yet to
acknowledge that the entire story was fabricated.

Dick Morris makes numerous false claims in purported attempt to "correct[]" Bill Clinton's "syrupy five minute ad for Hillary"

In a FrontPageMag.com column, Dick Morris purported to offer "corrections" to
President Clinton's "syrupy five minute ad" for Sen.
Hillary Clinton. But Morris made no fewer than seven different
claims about the video or Sen. Clinton
that contained
outright falsehoods or are contradicted by other
sources.

Horowitz, FrontPageMag misrepresented CREW statement on Foley emails to suggest "obstruction of justice"

In a press release alleging possible "criminal obstruction of justice" in the Mark Foley scandal, David Horowitz's FrontPageMag.com claimed that Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington said it has held "incriminating e-mails revealing Foley's sexual misconduct since at least July 2006." In fact, CREW has explicitly stated that it both received the emails and sent them to the FBI on the same day in July.

Horowitz falsely accused Media Matters of engaging in "crass doctoring of conservative statements" over his defense of Mel Gibson

David Horowitz falsely accused Media Matters for America of "crass doctoring of conservative statements" in a response to a Media Matters item noting that several conservative media figures -- including Horowitz -- defended Mel Gibson after he made a series of anti-Semitic remarks. In fact, Media Matters reprinted verbatim Horowitz's defense of Gibson from his appearance on the August 1 edition of Hannity & Colmes.

FrontPageMag's Laksin falsely claimed Media Matters "concede[d]" that half the professors in Horowitz's book "use their classrooms for political agendas"

FrontPageMag.com senior editor Jacob Laksin falsely claimed that a Media Matters for America study of right-wing activist David Horowitz's book The Professors: The 101 Most Dangerous Academics in America "concede[d] that nearly half the professors [Horowitz profiled] do in fact use their classrooms for political agendas." Media Matters conceded no such thing.

Horowitz: "Cornel West is a black airhead"

David Horowitz referred to Princeton University professor Cornel West as a "black airhead," adding that he "is blessed with these unearned and undeserved perks solely because he's black." Horowitz further described West's work as "useless" and claimed that he "hasn't written as scholarly paper or book in twenty years (if ever)."

David Horowitz debunks David Horowitz: a Media Matters analysis of The Professors

Right-wing activist David Horowitz has attacked Media Matters for America for noting -- contrary to Horowitz's denial on the April 6 edition of Fox News' Hannity & Colmes -- that his recent book contains numerous instances in which he cited the purported extracurricular activities of the professors he criticized in the book. Horowitz has conceded that there is a "sliver of truth in the Media Matters statement" that documented his inconsistencies, but he downplayed this, claiming that "my book is a series of profiles of 101 professors" that includes "general perspectives, [that] may or may not be expressed outside the classroom." However, a detailed Media Matters study of the book shows that Horowitz's suggestion that his book does not rely heavily on professors' activities and speech outside of the classroom is false.

But he also admitted that there is a "sliver of truth in the Media Matters [April 10] statement" pointing out that on the April 6 edition of Hannity & Colmes, Horowitz falsely claimed that he does not attack university professors' political speech outside the classroom.
