Savage: "America is being overrun by an invasion force from Mexico"

On the August 14 edition of his nationally syndicated radio program, Michael Savage claimed that "America is being overrun by an invasion force from Mexico that'll soon take over the country." Savage later stated: "If you look at the countries around the world where most of these immigrants have come from, you will see autocratic regimes, you will see drug dealers running the nation. You will see people living like serfs, and you will see the future face of America." Later in the show, after airing a clip of a news report stating that immigration, higher birth rates among immigrants, and an aging white population are "a couple of factors" responsible for America's changing demographics, Savage stated: "And you think the gang-banger with baggy pants is going to pay for your retirement, you liberal fools? You think that they're going to pay for your housing in a senior citizens center? You psychotic liberals don't even know you're digging your own grave and throwing lime in there. All that's missing is the worm from the tequila bottle to go with it."
As Media Matters for America has noted, Savage has frequently made inflammatory remarks about immigrants. For instance, Savage recently claimed that "[i]llegal aliens" have "raped and disheveled" the Statue of Liberty and added that "[w]e need to get our troops out of Iraq and put them on the streets of America to protect us from the scourge of illegal immigrants who are running rampant across America, killing our police for sport, raping, murdering like a scythe across America while the liberal psychos are telling us they come here to work." Additionally, while criticizing first lady Laura Bush's June 20 World Refugee Day speech, Savage said, "We're getting refugees now who have never used a telephone, a toothbrush, or toilet paper. You're telling me they're going to assimilate? They will never assimilate. They come here and they bring their destitute ways to this country, and they never assimilate." He continued: "And then their children become gang-bangers. It is a disaster. Did you hear what I just said? A disaster."

SAVAGE: Now, this is while the war is raging in the Caucasus, America is being overrun by an invasion force from Mexico that'll soon take over the country, the elites are fiddling while Rome burns, and here we are, we the people are listening to this rubbish. And minorities in America are becoming the majority.
Now, on the face of it, you say, "Well, what's wrong with that?" How about, everything is wrong with that. If you look at the countries around the world where most of these immigrants have come from, you will see autocratic regimes, you will see drug dealers running the nation, you will see people living like serfs, and you will see the future face of America. The only way to stop this is to throw out all the politicians, immediately, and then throw out the anchor babies.
You know, this thing about the anchor babies is why minorities in America will become the majority. Most people will be afraid to discuss this for fear that the radical scum on the left will call them a racist.
Well, I'll raise this question: Is it racist to love your nation? Is it racist to protect your nation? Is it racist to protect your nation against an invading horde, from another nation that wants to sweep you off the map? Is it racist to stand up to a racist organization called The Race? Is it racist to talk about race other than when you on the left talk about it? I don't think so, that's why I talk about it.
