Washington, D.C. - Media Matters for America Chief of Staff Eric Burns released the following statement today responding to Talk Radio Network's defense of Michael Savage's controversial comments on autism.

"In 1722 words, Talk Radio Network could not explain how Michael Savage was taken out of context.

"They provided no context to his comments that autism is 'a fraud, a racket' or calling children with autism 'brat[s].' Nor is there context for his comments acknowledging previously calling autism 'a phony disease.'

"No amount of finger-pointing can mask what Michael Savage said. His words speak for themselves."
