ABC's Robin Roberts did not challenge Giuliani's tax falsehood

Summary: ABC's Robin Roberts did not challenge Rudy Giuliani's claim that Sen. Barack Obama "wants to raise taxes." In fact, Obama has repeatedly said he would cut taxes for families making less than $250,000 per year, and Sen. John McCain's own chief economic adviser reportedly said that it is inaccurate to claim that "Barack Obama raises taxes."

"He's led -- he's led this country through crisis before."

My memory isn't what it once was, so I can't seem to remember when John McCain led this country through crisis before. Can someone help me with this?

Well, how about when McCain bravely "suspended his campaign" to work the phones and get the House Republicans to pass the bailout? That was masterful and inspiring, wasn't it? And thanks to that heroic effort, uh.... something good happened, right?

John McCain bravely led the charge for the re-election of George W. Bush in 2004...that was kind of a crisis.  ;>)

Every day that useless excuse for a human being has been squatting at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue has been a crisis.  I for one want to see him spend his retirement in prison for crimes against the American People.

I guess if you make Rudy's kind of money, then Obama DOES want to raise your taxes.

Hey, Rudy...how's Bernie Kerek?

Hey, Rudy - worn any good drresses lately?

OT, but ya gotta love white republican men values...

A Tennessee man couldn't give much to the McCain/Palin campaign, so he gave his child's nomenclature.

"I took one for the cause," said Mark Ciptak of Elizabethton. "This is a little token to the McCain camp, and we are strong supporters of that ticket." Ciptak put "Sarah McCain Palin Ciptak" on his newborn daughter's birth certificate documents, ignoring the name he and his wife picked earlier.

"We actually came up with the name Ava Grace, and I secretively went and got another set of forms," Ciptak said. His wife Layla, he told the
Kingsport Times-News still didn't know what he had done when he first talked to them. "Only some friends and family members who I have called for prayer support know at this point," he said.

...who I have called for prayer support...

Of course...   <sigh

"Hey Honey, I lied to you about something. Ya know the name we agreed on for the baby? I went behind yer back & named her after some wingnut hockey mom who's gonna be a political punchline for a little while, before she's an embarrassing historical footnote for the GOP. What's for dinner?"

Dammit, Snoop, I went right off-topic with you. Since there don't seem to be any slack-jawed dittoheads here, I'll provide their robotic response to this topic;

(ahem) Duhhhh... I don't get the problem here (digging wax out of ear) Obama will raise some taxes, on people making over a quarter mil...( scratching ass & inspecting fingernails)... so it's true that Obama will raise taxes... duhhhh.. (wiping drool from bib overalls).

You prefer a the extension or retraction movement when your wiping drool Col? Concerned hygenist's need to know!

Hope they ain't holdin' their guns in the hand their usin' to scratch with, could be deadly. But on the other hand, would be hard to scratch with the hand clutchin' the Bible.

Oscar, I hope you don't think, in what I hoped was an accurate portrayal, I was including reasonable cons like you.Maybe the ass-scratching, but I know a fashion plate like you wouldn't be caught dead in the OshKosh B'Goshes, unless they were custom made and imported.

Posted by oscar the grouch in reply to Col. Harlan Sanders

Nah, if I did I would have used "we" instead of "they".  However, I do on occasion were Bib Overalls (lots of pockets for the DIY projects around the Estate) and I try to make sure they're not imported (from China, anyway).

To which she replied: "Well the baby ain't yours anyways...!"  ;>)

Snoopy, before this thread got hijacked by Colonel Sanders and his weird hillbilly drunken blatherings :-0), I was gonna ask whassup with this hockey Mom crap all of a sudden. what happened to the dang soccor Moms?

Posted by IRONY 101 in reply to juliajayne

Hockey moms accept violence as part of life...some relish it.  Soccer moms yell at the refs when their kids get bumped.

Kind of like the difference between a pit bull and a terrier?

Posted by shaggles in reply to oscar the grouch

I thought a pit bull was a terrier?

They can't play soccer in Alaaaaaska..... too many Moose chips, don't ya know?

Besides, everybody knows that soccer is a Marxist sport.

Posted by oscar the grouch in reply to nerzog

OT, but do you know what they call a hockey team with 32 players?

A full set of teeth.

Only a dim-witted right-winger would "think" to do someting like that.  I mean, I seriously doubt that there are any chidren of Democrats out there named "Walter Carter Mondale", "Geraldine Mondale Ferraro". "Albert Clinton Gore", "Joseph Gore Lieberman", "John Kerry Edwards", or "Joseph Obama Biden".

McCain's recovery plan is nothing but a give away to rich folks and big business. (Has there ever been a Republican economic plan that wasn't?) It won't help with the current crisis and may make things worse. Only a Republican would think it's a good idea to cut taxes when we've just passed a $700 billion bailout package.

Posted by SouthTexScott in reply to shaggles

And only a Republican would think it's a ggod idea to cut taxes when we're spending $10 Billion in funny money a week on just one of our two wars.

" challenge" lol, you have got to be kidding ..they are there to parrot every right wing accusation and lie they hear about . From flashing pictures of William Ares as soon as he's mentioned by a republican to framing the topic as " why isn't Obama ahead MORE" , What tactic will McCain use , " what des he have to do " or " WILL IT WORK".

They no longer condem sleazy tactics in the media, they frame it as " will it work" .

The state of main stream "news" is appalling and they are all as bad as Fox, not only for what they say, but for WHAT THEY DON'T say !" - Kahoneez
