Print media reported that Obama represented ACORN, but not that DOJ was a fellow plaintiff in the lawsuit
Summary: Numerous print media outlets reported that Sen. Barack Obama represented the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now in the 1990s in a lawsuit, but they did not report that the Department of Justice was also a plaintiff in the lawsuit with the League of Women Voters and others. The lawsuit sought to require the state of Illinois to implement federal law on voter registration.

Seriously... that's all that you can come up with. Why not go with something about how the Justice Department supports voter fraud, because, after all, this was during the Clinton years, so the JD must have been trying to stack the deck in advance of the '96 elections. At least that lunatic thought took me a minute to bs. If you are going to throw out nutty ideas, though, can it at least be done in complete sentences?
Can't there be some real discussion instead of just blantant fishing for counter rhetoric, to which I realize that I have contributed.

It's also important to note that the leadership at ACORN were the ones who turned in the offending employees to the authorities.
ACORN's nose is clean.

deez, do you have a link to a story on that? It's really frustrating to hear all this ACORN coverage without really knowing what's going on. One time, I heard an ACORN spokesman saying, basically, "We were sabotaged," but all the rest of the coverage I've seen has all but connected the dots that ACORN must be crooked (and by the way, Obama ACORN Obama ACORN Obama ACORN).

ACORN is obligated by law to turn over all voter registration forms, even the fake ones, but it flags those it believes are suspicious (Mickey Mouse, John Q. Public, etc.)
Politico's take.
Furthermore, ACORN explained in a statement that “for the past 10 months, any time ACORN has identified a potentially fraudulent application, we turn that application into election officials separately and offer to provide election officials with the information they would need to pursue an investigation or prosecution of the individual.”
From the not-remotely-liberally-biased Wall Street Journal.
When a department store calls the police to report a shoplifting employee, no one says the department store is guilty of consumer fraud. The same principle applies here. The small number of staffers who have submitted fraudulent forms are violating ACORN’s mission. Anyone caught defrauding should be prosecuted, and ACORN says it is assisting in that effort.

of course it's important to note- in typical leftwing fashion, it's always noble to throw the minions under the bus to save your own butt. <sigh>

It's hardly "throwing them under the bus" if they broke the law. ANY company whose employees break the law should immediately fire those employees AND report them to the authorities where appropriate (I'm lookin' at YOU Halliburton, KBR, AIG, etc.)
The actions of those people violated not only the law, but ACORN's stated mission and terms of employment. I would expect to be fired if it were me.
You would rather ACORN behaved differently?
Do enlighten us as to how you would have handled this...

They should be called out for it. It's just typical of the liberal when caught in the act to blame a minion, someone else not involved, or even better the opposition for all their faults. it's the newest incarnation of moral equivilence. How about A) Acorn agrees to some kind of "break up" of it's triad and stop trying to hide behind dumbass excuses of altruism while being a lobby force that holds the congressional dems by the cajones ? B) The heads of ACORN and all it's middle managers institute some kind of audit of each of their recruiters that's open to scruitiny by any local election board ? C) Disbanding totally since they obviousy can't control their own people if they are that lame, or even more likely that these people on the streets do this under explicit direction to do so.
ACORN has had their hands red for the last three elections, each time promising to clean up their act. Three strikes and you're out I say. Disband them, and invalidate any registrations they've made. The numbers of their "errors" are far too wide and deep to sort it out fairly.

Oooohhh, that all powerful poor people's lobby mucking up Washington!! Please kid, that brand of 'blame the impoverished' populism is the stuff of authoritarian thugs. We see the right use it on issues from the housing crisis, to immigration, to education. It's sick and has no place in our country where fought to extricate ourselves from such royalist societal arrangements.
And when it's your party that throws Scott McClellan under the bus for their own treasonous lies, I think you ought to stfu.

Our right wing, Republican nuts are desperately hunting for something to bash Obama with. They've found an ACORN and hope to grow it quickly into a massive oak. They can then trip the branches into bats and continue on their batty ways. It's quite amazing to watch the faces of pro-Republican pundits and to listen to the twisted logic of their arguments in support of this pathetic McCain-Palin pair.

Obama gave ACORN $800,000 to "get-out-the-vote" and not one of you can actually say that this is not suspicious and NOT be lying!!! The even submitted their acquiring of the funds "WRONGFULLY" to the FEC, which it is now investigating.....come one......SHEEP SHEEP SHEEP.....
Okay..I give it to Obama supporters that if the issue at hand was merely Ayers, you might have a leg to stand on, but when you have a formula like the one below-it BEGS to question Obama's judgment, character, integrity, truthfulness/honesty and intentions.
I sit back in true amazement at those making fun of Sarah Palin's "alleged" SAT scores or even McCain's failure to graduate respectfully from the Naval Academy.....BUT, how do we even know Obama graduated from college or law school? Where are the transcripts to prove this and where are his SAT scores? Better yet, give me one article or anything that actually proves he was President of the Harvard Law Review as I cannot imagine as President, he did not have to write anything.
Ayers + Rev. Wright + (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac) + ACORN + Giving $800,000 to ACORN for what appears to commit fraud + Farrakhan + Rezko + Raines + Khali Al-Mansour + Communist Frank Marshall Davis + Rashi Khalidi + Refusal to show full length vault copy of Birth Certificate + Refusal to prove he is no longer an Indonesian Citizen + Refusal to show college transcripts to prove he actually graduate from college denoting his grades + Refusal to show thesis (which is something America will not appreciate from what I hear) =
= Corruption, deceitful, and liar with obvious criminality ties and/or behaviors.
Look, it does not take a rocket scientist to put all of that together and come up with and even more corrupt Washington and failed US economy should Obama become president.
We can dismiss one "coincidence" he was friends with a bad person, possibly even two, but seriously....there is NO DENYING the above information....and I am sure there is more corruption where all of that came from!!!
As for Palin--agreed, she sucked during the Katie interview, but hey it is Katie and she is being booted as the news anchor from her current station because she sucks--look at her ratings....
As for Abortion Rights---do you mean to tell me that the only thing in this world that signifies a woman has equal rights is whether or not she has access to abortions???
LMAO.......how truly ignorant the sheep are....the wolf will enjoy devouring your ignorance!!!
In short.....Women’s Rights stand for much more than abortion----when you wake up and understand that access to an abortion does NOT mean you are treated equally, the smart you shall be one day.
Look up the ORIGINAL Women's Rights movement before it was high jacked by a bunch of EXTREME Left Wing nuts (notice I said EXTREME, not Democrats).
THE IRONY OF IT all would be to have the REPUBLICANS actually get Obama on technicalities which is he so widely known for doing to his opponents in Illinois....IRONY????

Bravo... this is what every THINKING American should be considering right now with just three weeks to go until the election. Just watching the hearings in Ohio this morning should send a chill down the backs of any American who believes in the principle of "one ciitizen, one vote". Out of 100,000 new voter registrations in Ohio, ACORN is responsible for 50,000 of them! That's just in Ohio- what about the other dozen states where this corruption is known to exist and all the others where they perhaps did a better job of covering it up?
Monica Ray, will you please stand up alongside the starting lineup of the Dallas Cowboys???
One man testified that he was persuaded to fill out SEVENTY THREE registrations, alone. The Chicago Political Machine has gone nationwide in the organization to elect Obama, and something needs to be done.
Thnk of this- even if you support Obama, the ACORN group has effectively disenfranchised YOUR right to have your vote count in the manner it was intended, in ways like intimidation, fear and deceit that have been used by totalitarian regimes of the past that this country spilled blood to stop. Let's just call this election cycle "Plebicite 2008" and make it offical.

No real, reply, just mindless insults.. you must be one of the educated elite herd that "didn't" know it's illegal to register to vote more than once, let alone under names that dont' exist, more than one name or under phoney addresses. Sure.. cast your insults. That's all you have. The hanging chad crybabies found their way to embrace the old politics of chicago voter fraud and applaud it. Just think of it like this- if the NRA went around registrering voters under the names of Ellie Mae Clampett and Jethro Bodine by the hundreds, you'd all be having your brains explode in rage. Instead, because it will get your ideologically faulty, inexperienced, and socialist candidates elected, you all will once again stick your heads in the sand and sing "lalalala" and surrender America to the lunacy of the left.

Bish please.
Save your indignation.
The wingnuts have NO leg to stand on regarding ACORN or Ayers.
There is simply nothing there.
Even the Republican prosecutor who went after Ayers in the 70's says it's ridiculous for you people to try to tie Obama to Ayers.

Dang had a good reply all done up and somehow tripped up the obsenity filters somehow.
I don't feel like doing it up again so I'll merely say, I don't see any evidence or proof to your post. But then I suspect its a side issue for you anyway.
Get out in the threads that are current if you actually want an argument. If not I've seen a few posts occur days after their current and it seems a pretty wimpy thing to do. Support Mr Cranky and Miss Yes I abused my power, but it was in a good cause.

MissDee,
Registration fraud, which happens with some frequency, does not equal voting fraud, which rarely happens. Despite looking eveywhere, Bush-appointed justice attornies were unable to find legitimate cases of voter fraud and were rewarded by being fired. If you are truly concerned about being disenfranchised, might I suggest that you focus on the outdated electoral college, which does not treat all votes equally, or electronic voting machines, which may be compromised.

Gee, that doesn't sound like the liberal meme from 2000 and 2004 does it? Libs screamed foul in both elections. Now that it's obvious a liberal radical organization is trying to rig the election in key battleground states, you all want to poo-poo it and reassure everyone it's okay.
