Savage linked San Francisco event to the "artistes" and "leather fetishists" of Weimar-era Germany, whom he blamed for Hitler's rise

Summary: Discussing the Folsom Street Fair, a leather-themed adult-entertainment event in San Francisco, Michael Savage declared: "This country today is far beyond the excesses of the Weimar Republic that led to Adolf Hitler. God forbid that should ever happen here. But the German people, who were not all Nazis prior to Hitler's arrival on the scene, were shocked by the degenerates of Berlin. They were sickened by the perverts, sickened by the artistes, they were sickened by the leather fetishists, they were sickened by the degeneracy, and they couldn't handle it."

...so Savage thinks that gays and lesbians turned him into a Nazi? And he wants you to join him?

Posted by tman418 in reply to Kyle_Broflovski

Yep, the new Hitler.

While the rest of the country tries to get a handle on this financial mess, their own financial and job security, their retirement and their investments, Savage's rants and ravings stand out like the sore thumb that he is.  His dire warning about the end of civilization because a few people marched in leather in San Francisco this past weekend sure hit home.

Posted by JLyons in reply to tommy

But Tommy, a Leather fetish will kill America. We are on the verge of destroying our nation becase of these people.

<Sarcasm incase the venom comes from Sue/Ellie717 (bottleblonde and Brabantino>

On a serious note, you are correct Savage has his priorties wrong. I am convinced the people who listen to this racist homophobic hater are really so clueless and beyond stupid , they may not even be aware of what is going on in America right now with our economy.

"What do you think God was saying through Isaiah..."

Now Dr. Weiner is interpreting scripture?

Posted by snoopy in reply to worrierking

Hell, he's probably the one who initiated that internet e-mail qouting non-existant scripture as proof that Obama is the anti-christ.

Hmmm... This Savage guy really makes you think. Another well reasoned lecture from this font of morality and insight.

I saw part of a program last night on one of the History Channel offshoots about the 10 commandments, offering historians' different takes on those laws. Interesting that scholars see the one against adultery as being mainly about real estate, and not morality, as land was passed on to heirs, and an illegitimate son could really screw up the families net worth.

I guess those interpretations are a matter of opinion, but I wonder if the guys who put the Bible and other religious books together had any idea how many people over the millennia would abuse these books to support their own twisted agendas.

Posted by ukobserver in reply to Col. Harlan Sanders

Wow. Just.......wow. That has to be one of the most hate filled rants l have ever read!! I'm not sure how long it's going to be before this man is found dead wearing a basque, high heels, and stockings with an orange in his mouth. Don't think it's too far fetched, it's already happened with a conservative MP here.

Posted by eweston8542983 in reply to ukobserver

Well we do have at least one who is female, but only for sex. So far none have turned up with an orange in their mouths. A few apples yes, usually with some lipstick traces on them, but no oranges...so far.

Posted by neon desert in reply to ukobserver

Well I have to stick up for the Colonel here.  While he does mention "twisted agendas", I think that calling his comment a "hate-filled-rant" is a little over-the-top.

And your warning that the military police may someday find Colonel Sanders having kicked the bucket, his legs, thighs and breast covered in some spicy attire while garnished with citrus fruit of some kind, is not the secret recipe of some delicious irony.  It's just you being chicken of alternative lifestyles.

Posted by ukobserver in reply to neon desert

Nice repost but l was actually talking about savage!!!

In a serious note talks of reccession always worrys me. It always brings out the inner fascist in right wing blowhards. Unfortunately l lot of these idiots have a following who don't think for themselves but just have a Pavlovian response to key words.

Posted by neon desert in reply to ukobserver

Didn't you mean "Nice repAst"?

Otherwise, I have no doubt that you're dead-on (or "bang-on"?) about the typical savage weiner audience member.  Fortunately, they're a minority.  Unfortunately, they tend to vote in droves, and affect their neighbors lives improportionately.

Posted by ukobserver in reply to neon desert

I must apologise, you are correct with your spelling. In my defence, United are on in the Champions League and Berbatov has just scored his first two goals for us, so l am distracted.

We are just one of those teams that you see now and then,
We often score six,but we seldom score ten,
We beat 'em at home and we beat 'em away,
We kill any b***ards,
That get in our way,

We are the pride of all Europe,
The cock of the North,
We hate the Scousers, the Cockneys of course (and Leeds),
We are United, without any doubt,
We are the Manchester boys...

Posted by megabot

We get it already, Savage. You're a card-carrying member of the Westboro Baptist Church, and the recent school shooting in Finland was God's punishment, since Finland was once controlled by Sweden, that is such a gay paradise.

Why don't you go picket some funerals of dead American soldiers already, Savage?

Posted by neon desert in reply to megabot

What?  You want the savage weiner to get up on his hind legs and actually go DO something?

I mean, homosexuality and liberalism are the eminent causes of the extinction of humans, but... leave the radio studio?  Get real...

Posted by tman418

You know, for those of you have read The Pink Swastika, you probably know that there is this fringe movement that claims that Hitler and the Nazis were homosexuals and that homosexuality within the Nazi party caused them to do the Holocaust. But if they were gay, why did they persecute gays?

Posted by tman418

The Pink Swastika

Posted by tman418 in reply to tman418

Damn Italics don't work.

Posted by Col. Harlan Sanders in reply to tman418

TMan, this isn't the place for your hateful ethnic slurs.I know you may be holding onto your stereotypes of Italics as organ grinders or shiftless Mafiosos, but you're really out of line. Many, like our own Jeter, seem to be employed at least part-time.

Posted by tman418 in reply to Col. Harlan Sanders

Are you kidding me? I was trying to Italicize "The Pink Swastika" but the Italics button doesn't work.

You were just trying to joke, right?

Posted by Col. Harlan Sanders in reply to tman418

If you think discrimination against Italic-Americans is funny, then I guess I was joking.

ps:  ;0) (I was joking! I know that people from Italy are called Italese)

Jeez, Wiener's on a tear this week.

Posted by donaldmaddog5642

Look, MMFA.  I know you have to give some public exposure to Savage, only because he has a large audience, but Jeeze, it is just too painful.  Is there any way to just ignore this fool?  Nah, I guess not.  I hope the poor person who has to monitor Savage's crap is paid good money.

Posted by tjlabs

I think the lady doth protest too much. In my experience as a gay man if you scratch the surface of a rabid homophobe, you find a sweet young thing just yearning to be free. But in the case of Savage, please, please keep that closet door locked. We've got enough problems.

Posted by eweston8542983 in reply to tjlabs

That brings up some horrible images TL, but I think closetophobia, in this case, is hard to argue against.

Urrp...easy stomach.

An open note to Michael the Dolt. If SF is such a Sodom and Gommorah in your sight, why do you continue to live there. I would suggest that you go out your studio door, turn to the West and begin walking (don't stop too early, ten-twelve miles should be about right)

Posted by my4cents1172

why doesn't Savage live in Iran, if he hates freesom so much?

Posted by m_mccain2016

Weiner-boy is just angery that once again he missed the fair. Its the only place he can find the gear for his particular fetish. The series of leather straps and chain in his head harness helps Weiner stop those nerons from firing in his brain.

How else could he do his show?

"Savage hates Freedom"....what an unbelievable statement. I see M.M. didn't allow my first post on this issue....I guess it was too "Conservative" of a statement. Savage is all about freedom...but he is not about Blatant in your face "subversive" lowest of the low sexual expression being paraded around on US streets. If peeps want to do that in their own home...fine...but out in the open where people are walking their kids or tourists are travelling with children...that is unacceptable. If you all agree with this behavior then I guess you are the parents who don't discipline your kids or try to protect them....so when they go to touch that scalding hot pot on the stove you don't stop them but let them get burned....this is no different!!!!

Posted by john174541842

Savage clearly states in this audio clip that he is not necessarily against these behaviors, since people are free to do as they wish.  However, it is when these behaviors are allowed to spill out into the public streets for all to see, a problem will arise.  People are going to be offended (rightly so) by this...people acting out their personal sexual fantasies in the streets is wrong.  For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, this is all that Savage is pointing out.  There will be an opposite reaction to this kind of behavior if it continues...will it happen in our life time?  Who knows; but learning from history, it is quite obvious that "excesses" are always cut off by an opposing force.

Posted by roundhouse in reply to john174541842

Whatever, clueless john. Save it save it you sick bastard. Savage is clearly not in favor of these behaviors by any stretch. Unless you think calling them sick is somehow ingratiating. Did you think I was trying to get on your good side by calling you a sick bastard? Didn't think so, homey.

Savage said, " still doing what they do because they're sick, they're mentally ill. Every last person there is a mentally ill person, in my opinion. And what they were doing in the streets was an example not of wholesomeness but of sickness."

I'm reminded of a bumper sticker I saw on a truck. It read, if you don't like guns then don't buy one. And I thought to myself, "Right on, just like abortions. If you don't like them, don't have one. Just keep your damn nose out of my business and I'll do the same."

Shit, boy, if you and Mikey don't like gay people walking freely in the streets then avoid those places where gay people congregate once a year. But don't ever think for a second that you have the right to bring a violent, "opposite reaction," to these, "excesses."

Posted by ca

Roundhouse--- I don't think john said anything about violence....but by your written response I'd say you sound fairly violent. So if anyone opposes your beliefs you get violent? For one...Savage did say whatever these people want to do behind close doors in THEIR BUSINESS....he still thinks they have darkened hearts...BUT THAT IS HIS OPINION....but what he is railing against is this behavior being FORCED on people by letting it spill out on PUBLIC STREETS..... Now I sure hope you wouldn't let your IMPRESSIONABLE CHILD be exposed to this behavior....but by your argument you to allow ANYTHING IN PUBLIC by nature of default you will find it hard to protect your child from this debased society.

Posted by roundhouse in reply to ca

So, if not violence, what do you think John meant by an "opposite reaction," to peaceful assembly and peaceful expression of citizen rights? For the record, we have sent our sons to die to protect our right to free speech, not curtail those rights.

So save your lectures.

Posted by ca in reply to roundhouse

You are 100% correct...our country has had brave men and women die to protect our freedoms and way of life.

The founding Fathers put "Free Speech" into the Constitution....and I would fight that you and I would be able to have our Free Speech debates and Free Speech on public streets....but...by definition Speech is a vocal word, something spoken like you and communicating in person talking with one another.....Speech is not a behavior or an action....speech is not Pornographic Material...as in it is Free Speech is not the actions of sex in my face....Now I am not saying these individuals had sex on the streets...merely pointing out the difference between you and I talking to one another as speech and something presented as a VISUAL being "speech"

That is not speech....the founding Fathers didn't or wouldn't have ever envisioned Free Speech  being anything but Verbal or Written Communications...not physical actions.....

I know you whole heartedly disagree with this but I will never cede this point to you....

By the way, the "opposite reaction" john was referring to could be him in "disagreement" using SPEECH

Posted by roundhouse in reply to ca

You fancy yourself to be rather clever don't you?

You know John was defending Savage's eliminationist rhetoric. I mean, to me, the "opposite reaction" to peaceful assembly, is violent dispersal.

Anyway, since these folks weren't, as you say, having sex in the streets or in your face, they were merely, freely expressing their thoughts and emotions. I'm sorry you are offended by gay folks in costumes, but that is your problem. Because I know you'll inevitably fall back to this argument, you can keep it to yourself about what you deem to be appropriate or inappropriate for me and my children to be exposed to. Also, the supreme court disagrees with you. They have ruled that companies are people and that political contributions, an act, a transference of money, is indeed a form of protected free speech.

And indeed, we are also guaranteed the right to freedom of expression.

I think you are woefully misguided in your interpretation of what our founding fathers considered free speech. Are we not guaranteed the right to free assembly? I find it fascinating that you will never cede a point, a right, that is enumerated in our Bill of Rights.

Posted by ca in reply to roundhouse

I really care less what todays Supreme Court has ruled....THey don't dictate to me what my beliefs are.

Now I obey the laws as best I can....but by no means do I have to agree with what some Supreme Court ruling is either....SPEECH is NOT Actions....SPEECH IS VOICED OPINION....

Now you obviously hold no moral code what-so-ever....I understand that...that is why I can see there would never be any agreement between us.

I don't consider gays marching that much of an issue...sort of interesting maybe...sort of interesting because they march to prove what point....that we MUST accept their behavior....but whatever I don't really care about what you said was or would be a "Peaceful" march.  But that was anything but...it was demonstration and acting out of a very debased mind and heart...in public...and as I've now heard from reports of eye witnesses that some were naked in cages....isn't that wholesome?

Also, so you know I take no offense by these people....I don't hate them or mislike them at all....but I do disagree with them...and I do disagree that I don't think I should have to be subjected to their absolute dungeon behavior on my streets.

Also, so you know I also disagree with the bailout bill....I'm sure you'll wreck me on that as well:)

Posted by roundhouse in reply to ca

We might agree on something. That we need to unwrite the personhood clause for corporations. But, dude. Are you ok? I mean, freedom of assembly is a guaranteed right we have as Americans. Assembling is an expression of our free speech rights. Just admit you took a poor line of attack here.

Don't tell me about moral codes, though, I will not hear such tripe coming from a person who would constrain the rights and freedoms of your fellow Americans by telling them they have no right to live like free Americans in the street. I don't know about you but I am tired of religious zealots trying to force their faith on the rest of us.

As for the bailout, ask yourself how angry you would be if the House and Senate passed a 700 billion dollar bailout package for the unemployed and foreclosed. How angry would you be if they gave 700 billion dollars for free education and healthcare for all? You with your moral superiority would be screaming bloody socialism form the rooftops.

You are a bit of a phony, my friend.

Posted by roundhouse in reply to roundhouse

Excuse me, I misread your final sentence. I too think the bailout is a POS.

Posted by ca in reply to roundhouse

I'm glad we can agree on the bailout.

To reply to you above statement on "forcing faith on the rest of us"...I never mentioned a word about faith or what I believe in a religious context at all....I did mention a moral code...but even people who don't believe in God have some type of moral code...either alot, a little, or in between.

You are right people can assemble...I have no issue with that...and I stated so above by saying if people want to march (in peace) let them march.

But this was beyond that...this was very pornographic activity (some being nude) whipping eachother and acting out very lewd conduct.....that is why I have issue with this quote unquote 'March'

Just think man...what if while marching these individuals were pleasuring themselves in the streets...now I'm talking a step beyond what these people did...but think about that...is that okay to have "march" where individuals are pleasuring themselves in the streets?

To me there is no difference...and trust me I won't ever spend a dime in that city again...so next I'm enjoying the wine country with my wife we won't be making day trip to San Fransicko
