NY Times uncritically reported McCain ad and "talking point" that Obama "said [during debate] he agreed with his rival's positions"

Summary: The New York Times uncritically reported in an article that the McCain campaign "released an Internet video citing several instances in which Mr. Obama had said he agreed with his rival's positions, a talking point that began to emerge even as the debate was going on here Friday night." I, too, was dismayed by Obama's constant agreements with McCain on various points.  It wasn't until the second or third viewing that I realized what Obama's reasons were for doing that.  Just an example of my not being the brightest bulb on the marque.  Then I began to worry about all the other dim bulbs who watched only once.  As a loyal reader of the NY Times for 60 years, I am disturbed to see that even the Times has become as unprofessional as the rest of the MSM.

Man, it would be great if John McCain agreed with his opponent more often.  It's too bad he doesn't agree with Obama (or most Americans) on the following:

Cutting taxes for the middle class

Ending the war in Iraq

Closing corporate tax loopholes

Simplifying the tax code

Providing college assistance for students who do community service

Increasing transparency of government finances

...but no, John McCain could never reach into his dark, dark soul to find a way to support any of those causes.  What a maverick!!
