Despite evidence to the contrary, NY Times asserted as fact that McCain had "suspend[ed] his campaign"

Summary: In a September 26 article, the New York Times asserted as fact that Sen. John McCain "suspend[ed] his campaign," but it did not mention that McCain campaign surrogates continued to attack Sen. Barack Obama on television, that McCain campaign ads continued to air on television, and that McCain campaign offices in various battleground states reportedly remained open.

It was a stunt.  It was a transparent stunt.  Everybody knows it was a stunt.  It didn't work, it failed miserably and backfired on McCain.  The more people see it in print or hear it in the media, the worse it looks for McCain as it just reminds people of how stupid and disingenuous it all was.  MMFA should be kissing the media goons who keep reminding us of it, in any fashion.

Hey, don't hold back, tommy! Tell us how you really feel...

P.S. what did you do to solon? He's gone for a few months and now he's... different. ;)

Shy and demure, it's me, isn't it?

I hear ya about Solon, it can't be the same person, is it?  He used to be one of my favorite sparring partners and now he is barely recognizable in his posts.......what gives?  Come Back Solon, you ole' crusty curmudgeon you!  :)

Solon always talked about rarely getting a haircut. Do you suppose he has met a Delilah that has shorn the source of his power? Or do we dare utter the word lobotomy?

In any case...the poster using the name solon is certainly kindler and gentler...strange.

I think this "solon" may be one of the old solon-haters who waited around for the name to become available. This one seems to be evolving from an agreeable moderate to more of a conmedia apologist.

But I still wonder what happened to the real Solon.

Ooooh, maybe it's the symbol formerly known as solon!

There's no evidence other than McCain's word that he suspended anything.  I don't know about anyone else but I don't exactly trust his word.

Why is the race still close?  McCain is unstable and Palin is a dunce.  Obama and Biden should be up by ten to fifteen points.

I see McCain's supporters will be out in force tonight...

KKK plans to show up at tonight’s debate.

The Mississippi White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan plan to appear at the University of Mississippi for tonight’s debate, the university’s student newspaper reports. The emperor confirmed to the Daily Mississippian that KKK members and officers would be on site, but would not demonstrate publicly:

The Mississippi White Knights will have officers and Klansmen on hand for the presidential debate on September 26, 2008. Our people will be in Oxford and on the campus ‘invisible.’ That means our people won’t be in regalia or demonstrating. So, I guess you’ll just have to guess which of the people present are Klansmen.

The author of the article, a senior at Ole Miss, told the Wall Street Journal, “Everybody thinks it’s pretty chilling.”

Now I see why the race is still close.  There are a lot of people here in the good ol' US of A who still have a problem with black people.
