Minneapolis radio host Baker repeatedly called Obama "Nicolae Carpathia," the Antichrist character in the Left Behind series

Summary: Radio host Chris Baker repeatedly referred to Sen. Barack Obama as "Nicolae Carpathia," the Antichrist character in the Left Behind book series, including one instance in which he stated: "I'm getting really sick of being told that if I disagree with Barack Obammy, the Nicolae Carpathia candidate, that I'm a racist."

The anti-Christ is a secret Muslim?

Posted by JLyons in reply to cArn

Apparently, these people will say anything to the stupid people that listen to them.

The anti-Christ is a secret Muslim?

Is that like those "secret shoppers" who go into places like Wal-Mart and Sears and report back on their shopping experience?

:-)

How can the anti-Christ be both bush and Obama? I am really confused now because I thought it was bush for 8+ years. I am going to have to remove my brain and throw it against the wall now. Excuse me I have to get my bone saw......

I used to work with a guy who was convinced that Ronald Reagan was the Anti-Christ.  His "proof"? Reagan's full name was "Ronald Wilson Reagan".  There are six letters in each name, which gives you "666".

Of course, numerology doesn't work that way......

I have 2 store receipts that reflect a total of $6.66 and it convinced me that I was the anti Christ. So I practice self crucification (repukelicans think this practice should be used on all America haters or those that question bush's policies) which I have learned can be very relazing after I lose a few quarts of blood from the nail wounds. I recomend you try this at your earliest convenience.

Well ovbiously this guy is not completely insane...

right?

I'm sick and tired of being told that if I disagree with Dick Cheney, the Darth Vader candidate to the Empire of neo-cons, that I'm anti-American!

(and that's NOT a strawman!)

Posted by eweston8542983

Ok what idiot told him he couldn't disagree with the democratic candidate. How was this bogus argument presented to him. How many other poor souls have been consigned to this uncalled for fate. And how do I make my voice do this?

Posted by shaggles in reply to eweston8542983

No one told him that.  He's just espousing the fictional right wing talking point that any criticism of Obama is called racism by the left.  It's sort of ironic because that's actually happening on their side.  Pretty much every criticism of Palin has been called sexist.

I'd like to add a special Thank You to Media Matters for not putting that f-ing picture of this mama's boy menacing a soccer ball with a knife in this one.

Seems like we're his only press. If it weren't for MMFA, most poople would never hear of him.

I listen to a few minutes of this guy most mornings.  His political "thoughts" are utterly incoherent.  I didn't hear him say this, but it's interesting considering that about a week ago he was saying "religion doesn't influence who people vote for, but Obammy sure seems like a Muslim to me."  Even his sidekick was flabbergasted.

He doesn't live in Oregon, does he?

Obama effigy hung from tree at US Christian college

Officials at a US Christian college have launched an investigation after a cardboard effigy of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama was hung from a tree, a statement said Wednesday.

George Fox University, in Newberg, Oregon, said in a statement on its website that the cutout of Obama was found hanging from a tree on campus early Tuesday morning before being removed by staff.

A sign reading "Act Six reject" was taped to the cutout. Act Six is a scholarship program run by the college granted to 10 student leaders from urban Portland. Most of the students currently benefiting from the program are ethnic minorities, the statement said.

George Fox University President Robin Baker was to address the college's 1,800-strong undergraduate body later Wednesday.

"We will not tolerate such displays and condemn it in the strongest terms," Baker said in a statement.

The people responsible for the incident have not been identified, the statement said, but authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward.

The Romans did NOT have enough Lions. I live in the Bible belt and there are more crooks, cheats, flim flam artists and cretin a--holes here than in So Cal where I grew up. Proof positive: The masses are asses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BAKER: "...Man, that's just part of the big show. That's all sarcasm and me just being a smart aleck." So, in other words, it's all bullshet...just a show to get people worked up? Glad he admits it. Now his listeners know where not to turn for any real probative commentary or discussion.

BAKER: "I'm getting really sick of being told that if I disagree with Barack Obammy, the Nicolae Carpathia candidate, that I'm a racist." No, Baker. You're told you're a racist because you're a racist.

The name is Barack Hussein Obammy, thank you very much!!

i've read excerpts from the "left behind" books.  people in need of serious help.  but then again, most americans think angels exist.

Posted by neon desert in reply to mefirst

They do.  And they can preside over the senate, take care of a special needs child, and field dress a moose all in a days work.

By the way, Sarah Palin once played shortstop for the (then) California Angels, and recorded the only triple-double in MLB history in a game against the Yankees.  It was one of the few times that ESPN cameras caught Derek Jeter crying after a game...

Posted by djasper2761 in reply to neon desert

After this game she flew up to Oakland and played tight end for the Raiders. I heard she was very popular in the locker room. (She also ran for 4,000 yards in that game without scoring a touchdown.)

"All right, so we're back in to race again. We're being barraged with if you disagree with Barack Obammy Nicolae Carpathia --you here this story? A town in California has changed their name to "Obama." This is getting crazy, man."

So apparently when a town named Olema changes their sign to read Obama (note the similarity in their names,) it cannot possibly be a joke. But when you call people the Antichrist or feminazi or whatever epithet your infintile mind can come up with, that is a joke.  Haha funny stuff.

This guy is just another local hack who got mentioned on a national web site, and now is trying to cash in on his "15 Min" by saying more ignorant things than the day before hoping it will happen again, and it did.He gets his rocks off by reading his name in print. He had a gig in Omaha but got the ax because his rating were in the tank.

"Minneapolis hadio host Baker ..."??

Geesh ... How deep does MM have to dig to scrounge for so-called "conservative misinformation"?

Here we are, only 40(?)-or-so days outside a HUGE election, and MM finds NADA at the NY Times, LA Times, NBC, CNN, CBS, and MSNBC, but they find something at a local radio station that's tied for 12th in their market.

Looks like another slow day at the office for "conservative misinformation," IMHO.

"hi, my name is shoes and I am a blind follower of anything right wing. I hate MMFA with a passion because they challenge my beliefs, so my only goal in life is to try and discredit the truth they display daily. I've got cheeto's on my fingers and a moldy bathrobe, but mom is OK with that. She washes it every month. My hands, too. It feels kinda nice having mommy wash my hands for me..."

The FAR RIGHT WINGNUTS are sure getting scared now. Scared of losing their ill gotten power.

I've said it before, months and months ago, and here again, proof positive that christians truly beleive that Obama is the anti-christ.

He fits their description in all the ways.

They just can't seem to find a way to tag him with the 666 yet.

Hang in there, this should be fun watching the didoes they go through on this one.

Sixteen books in the "Left Behind" series? I wonder if Chris Baker even read one of them? Also, I wonder how effective his rant would be without the name 'Nicolae Carpathia.'

Posted by magnolialover in reply to robotchubby

I wonder if he knews that the rapture story that a lot of people believe isn't actually part of the Bible, but made up by a cult leader by tying together a lot of different things within the Bible to bring together rapture theology?

100.3 is the radio home of the Minnesota Vikings. Since they haven't addressed this issue, you can assume that Chris Baker's views are shared by Vikings managment.

Come to think of the The Vikings are the only NFL team that honors a aryan heritage with thier team name, the quislings.
