Sexism?  Who'da thunk it?

What a stunning new phenomenon that the right-wing professional liars have discovered!

Posted by snoopy in reply to pete592

Apparently they can turn it on and off at will too. Take this stunning example from today on Fox:

Bloomberg News's Carolyn Baum said Palin wouldn't bring women to the Republican ticket just because "she has tits."

Typical political sniping.  All these charges of sexism by this one or that one.  Please, it's all about ideology and partisanship.  Those that haul out these charges love to cloak their political bias in accusations towards their opponents as being sexist, or whatever other hot button discriminatory charge, simply in an attempt to invalidate the other's criticism.

In this case however, it definitely displays the hypocrisy for those on the right crying sexism, that is undeniable.

Thanks, Tommy, I had a feeling that political bias was at play here.  Thisism and Thatism.  Please!

Not a prob Gov, stating the obvious often alludes some here and merits repeating now and then.  Except for you, nobody can grasp the obvious like you can.  Well done.

Thanks again!  Honestly, I'm super-psyched that I've read and understood this correctly.

You guys(Tommy)need to stop it, I can't believe I'am blushing.  Hahaha!

Gov., if you skip the first paragraph, and the first phrase of the last sentence, it's a pretty good post by Tommy. He just needs some better editors to clean up the rough draft.

stating the obvious often alludes some here

And quite often your allusions are elusive.

The moderates are flocking to her because a lot of moderates like to see a woman who hunts, a woman who is in the PTA, a woman who has a job; a woman who has a baby

i'm totally basing my vote on these things, i just knew what kind of arsenal she had....

It's hilarious to see these right wing blow hards try to act like they're all of a sudden concerned about womens rights. They can't even defend Palin without calling other women skanks. As Clobert said the other day "We've been feminists for almost 3 weeks!"

"They can't even defend Palin without calling other women skanks."

This sums it up perfectly.  This revealse for anyone with two or more brain cells how shallow and utterly without principal thier attack is.

All this support by the rightwing 'men' of Palin being mostly based on the fact that she is a good looking woman..... is not that reaction by itself a form of 'sexism'? as opposed to her qualifications..... oh.... wait.... nevermind!

Capt, if I may, here is some vital reading...

Thanks, Darkmass, that's a good piece. I've found it funny lately that so many people, even liberals, are theorizing that in a McCain/Palin administration, Palin would really be in charge, as opposed to Grampy.

I see the GOP as being entirely about the party apparatus, the Roves and others behind the scenes, running puppet candidates who appeal to emotional triggers in conservative voters. (Cheney is an exception, as I think he 's one of the string-pullers who, for some reason, was attractive enough to the wingnut base to cast in the role of VP).

If it turns out that the average American voter is confused enough that this ridiculous ticket wins the White House, I'd imagine President McCain and VP Loopner would get their first and last orders immediately following the elections;

"Here are your speeches/scripts. Start memorizing them and don't ask any questions"

Posted by donaldmaddog5642 in reply to Col. Harlan Sanders

I agree, Col., the piece submitted by DARKNESS was great.  Another idea.  Could old Karl complain about our abuse of "him" as a smarmy "man" or "guy" count at sexism?  What about "son of a bitch" and "bastard", terms always referring to a male?  "Prick" is certainly a male-directed insult.  There is no mistaking the words "schmuck" and "putz".  Would it be sexist if these terms were used ONLY by a woman toward a male?  Perhaps we would be better off using gender-free terms like "horrible human being".  That way nobody get offended.

Hey, and don't you know John(trollop/c-word)McCain/Palin will now file frivilous(sic)lawsuits to further womens rights. And Todd is a Teamster.  Republicans are now pro-labor(hallalula).

I think that Colbert really hit the spot when he said, "Yeah. We've been feminist for what, 2 weeks now?"

Posted by juliajayne

Ah, Donald. Don't take away my fun. I love calling you man types bastards amd pricks. Hell, I wouldn't have anything to call the colonel if not for those names. :-0)

Posted by Col. Harlan Sanders in reply to juliajayne

Colonel Bastard would have been a pretty kickass screen name. Thanks for the suggestion, ya dizzy skirt. I don't feel like doing a legal name change , so I'll just have to be happy leading the Bastard Squad. And being a prick.

Posted by juliajayne in reply to Col. Harlan Sanders

Hmmn, colonel, sort of begs the question - what's a dikfore? :-0)

Yes, I'm a sexist pig and I'm not even a media figure.

Posted by Col. Harlan Sanders in reply to juliajayne

I'm still working on the Henway and the Greek Urn, but I'll get back to you Babymama.

Posted by juliajayne in reply to Col. Harlan Sanders

I thunked you were still working on the Colonel's secret recipe. :-0)

There goes MMFA again, taking clips out of context, or clipping them misleadingly.  Left out in the Jon Stewart reference if the fact that, at the end of the segment, Stewart said, "In his defense, Dick Morris is a lying sack of scat."
