Limbaugh: "Troopergate" investigation is "pure sexism," but Palin "didn't bend over and let" Alaska politicians "have their way"

Summary: Rush Limbaugh said of the investigation into Gov. Sarah Palin's dismissal of Alaska public safety commissioner Walter Monegan: "This is pure sexism in Alaska on the part of these old boys trying to get rid of Sarah Palin, and she didn't put up with it, and she didn't bend over and let them have their way."

And Limbaugh wonders why he's on his THIRD divorce?

Posted by tommy

There's nothing like a little hardline partisanship to make room for a little good ole' fashioned hypocrisy to rear its head.  Case in point; Rush Limbaugh.

Can you imagine his blubbering and bloviating if the left were saying this about a Democratic candidate?  He would be all over them for playing the victim.  If Sarah Palin has done one thing, it has crystalized the rank dishonesty of many on the right.

Posted by snoopy in reply to tommy

It is rather funny if you think about it. Limbaugh has been a feminist now for what - two weeks?

Posted by juliajayne in reply to snoopy

Hey, Snoop, the whole cadre of Republican echo chamber freaks are now 2 week old feminists. Funny, that.

Posted by IRONY 101 in reply to juliajayne

Hey, let's be honest, some of these Republicans have been feminine for longer than two weeks. Oh, wait...femi-NIST...nevermind.  ;>)

and she didn't bend over and let them have their way.

If Palin were tapping her toes, Craig wouldn't hear it.

There you go, Snoopy, misrepresenting the FACTS. Where's Max?

It's been 2 and a half weeks.

Maxi-pad only posts when the thread is 36 hours old. That way he avoids responses...

Rush Limpballs defending a woman from alleged 'sexism' is like Hanibal Lector defending Jeffery Dahmer's taste for flesh by trying to claim its an innocent act!

Rush...... my god man...... STOP! Your becoming an even larger embarrasment every time you try and defend Sarah Palin from the same kind of attacks you gleefully provided your 'dittoheads' on Hillary all these years!

Posted by NiceguyEddie in reply to tommy

Replace "Sarah Palin" with "Hillary Clinton" and try to imaging him making the same point with a strait face.  Please Rush, you sound like LESS of a fool when your MAKING sexist points YOURSELF.  Don't try to argue fro feminism now.  You look like an even bigger fool.

Yet another Limbaugh reference to anal sex...? This guy has some issues! Get help, Rush...  ;>)

And still Jeff Christie remains silent about his arrest in the company of that male prostitute in Pittsburgh back in the '70s....

Posted by magnolialover

Good Lord man. Get a grip. So a woman, the governor of Alaska is being investigated for something that she may, or may not have done wrong, and it's sexism? Rush, Rush, Rush... That word does not mean what you think that it means. And then he turns right around, and says something sexist. What a maroon this guy is.

Posted by tippy in reply to magnolialover

Even his anti-sexism rant is sexist.  It's fun to see him twisting himself in knots, though.

Posted by shaggles

So what are these emails and documents she released?

Posted by magnolialover in reply to shaggles

There were some e-mails where she said that (without proof) that the trooper in the troopergate made some threats against someone in her family.

That should be it then. She wrote it in an e-mail, that should be good enough for everyone to take it, and say, she's good to go. Thing is, they have an independent investigator looking into this, and apparently, she's NOT going to cooperate. Palin is also saying that the Obama campaign is behind this renewed interest in troopergate, and that they're driving the Alaskan legislature to get this thing moving, all of this, without proof of course. Actually, Palin's proof that Obama is behind this? The guy driving for this to get going supports Obama for the presidency. He doesn't work for his campaign, or have any official involvement, nope, he just supports Obama for the presidency. Pretty thin eh?

Posted by wzwriter in reply to magnolialover

Pretty thin eh?

ABout as skimpy as Caribou Barbie's qualifications.

Posted by magnolialover in reply to wzwriter

I mean, really. Why would we doubt what she says about this? It's not as if she's lied about things before...

Oh, wait, never mind. If her track record on telling the truth is any indication of what happened with Troopergate, I'd say they'll find out that she did things wrong.

Posted by BottleBlonde in reply to magnolialover

There was already an investigation into the ex-brother-in-law's behavior. He was given something like a 5 day suspension without pay after a thorough examination of his behavior.

Palin thought he should get fired. Her judgment as a partial observer was supposed to be superior to the jugdment of impartial observers in her mind - she was supposed to be able to tell a high level guy to fire her ex in-law because she had a better insight into it.

Bull. She should have never tried to interfere in the firing decisions of any public safety officer below the head guy that she had responsiblity for. It's beyond the scope of her job to make hiring and firing recommendations, and it's really offensive that she thought that she should have any input into decisions about a guy that she had a personal relationship with! Such hypocrites!

Posted by snoopy in reply to BottleBlonde

It's like hiring your brother, only in reverse. Palin already has a track record on hiring/firing, heck, the job app her high school friend put in for dept. of agriculture listed "I love cows" as her qualification to be head of that dept. (she sold homes for a living or something like that). Palin has zero credibility when it comes to judging others...

Posted by IRONY 101 in reply to snoopy

But she can see Russia from Alaska...  ;>)

And I can see the sun from my house. I'm now qualified to be Secretary of Energy.

I own a bicycle. Where do I apply to be Secretary of Transportation?

Posted by annes10 in reply to snoopy

Sarah simply loves old friends who love cows. You marxist libruls need to just get used to it, becuase when she's presdent all her cabinet will love cows too JUST WAIT AND SEE. Making such a tempest in a pig pot ABOUT COWS.

On a private note, I turned republican yesterday. It was pointeed out to me HERE ON THIS SITE that Biden wears french cuffs, and I had a political epighany. Now I just need to buy some Sarah glasses before it wears off.

Puhleaze. Now its barn-yard-animal-ism. Will you marxist stalinst libruls never learn? Sounds an ofal lot like treason to me.

LIMBAUGH:  A clear case of insubordination.

Jeff Christie.  A clear case of insanity brought on by long-suppressed homosexual urges.....

Posted by magnolialover in reply to wzwriter

What Limbaugh really meant:

"This man didn't do exactly as the governor said, even though there was no reason to fire the man, and so I showed him, and fired him... If Palin doesn't get what she wants, look out, the pitbull is not afraid to show her teeth."

In other words, this tells me one thing. Nobody could speak truth to power to her. If she comes up on one side of a position, and you come down on the other side, better watch the door, because it will probably be hitting you on the arse as you get fired. She doesn't want independent thought in her administration, she wants blind faith and allegiance to what she wants done. And she'll hire people who will do that for her.

Does that sound like anyone else?

And now for the daily hypocrisy report.

“Feminism was established to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream.”

Daily Hypocrisy Report Part II:

Too many whites are getting away with drug use...Too many whites are getting away with drug sales...The answer is to go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them and send them up the river, too. - Rush Limbaugh, 5 October 1995

Irony Alert:  Can this get more twisted.  DITTO HEADS WAKE UP!  Your el rushbo has contorted himself beyond reason or oxycotin euphoria.

Why?  This is the same Rush that foamed at the mouth all through the 90's over every little clinton rumor.  Remember all the Clintongates? Remember rush and his minions combing over every sorid detail of Arkansas politics?  Remember all the outrage over the cover ups, especially the ultimate cover up:  Whether or not Clinton engaged in sex with that woman. Why Clinton even killed his good friend Vince Foster over an investigation at a travel office.  Yes supposedly the clintons not only usurped power and clawed their way at the top, but also prevented justice from being served.  Thats all rush and his cabal yacked about for 8 years.

Well now tables have turned, only it isn't liberal media and politicians distorting our politics to throw mud, but it is an ongoing investigation that seems to have survived Mccains thorough vetting process.  However notice the odd lack of outrage on Rush's part.  Now its deplorable that such investigations would hinder a politician trying to do the good people's work.  In fact, the motives of such investigators should be questioned.  Well Rush would know wouldn't he?  I would say he knows  a lot about sham politically motivated investigations, having been in the eye of so many with the Clintons.

I imagine Rush assumes all investigates are political attacks.  Really the only issue is whether its for the good guys or the bad guys.

Well Palin has revolutionized our politics.  Now Rush is a femanist and now Rush feels its OK to obstruct investigations over corruption of power.  I wonder if he will come clean about all that Clinton stuff now.

Posted by MA_KsBornDem in reply to wookie

Yep - that is pretty bad.  Where did that come from - the Rush archives?

THEN I HAD TO TURN HIM OFF BECUASE HE WAS SO SHRILL AND SHOUTY I COULDN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE EVEN THOUGH I AM A REPUBLICAN NOW SEEMS CONSERVATIVISM DOES NOT DULL THE HEARING AT LEAST NOT YET BUT VISION IS A PIG OF A DIFFERENT COLOR I NEED SOME SARYA GLASSES. ON THE BRIT SIDE I DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT SPELING ANYMORE SO MAYBE I CAN WAIT ON THE GLASSES.

Let's see, delay the investigation as long as possible (until AFTER the election, at least) by refusing to talk to the investigator and now she has her Attorney General saying that the subpoenas will be ignored. Use private email accounts to conduct government business SPECIFICALLY to AVOID open records laws.

Does this sound like an open government reformer or GWB?

I wonder, these emails that her attorney is turning over that 'prove' she was right in firing this guy - what email account do you suppose they came from?

Consider this.  If Obama had more experience, he could be investigated for firing someone.

Besides, I thought house cleaning was a good thing.  Did anyone notice that Palin cleaned up the Republicans - her own party.  And she gets no accolades in this room?

But wait, ya'll are hammering on Rush for saying " ... bend over"?

 What was the subject?

Where did THAT picture of Limbaugh on the home page come from?  It looks like he taking a dump.  Who takes these pictures?  And why would  [Limbaugh and his people] let them get out?!  Awful.  I hate the man, but my god... that pic's just... disturbing.

Rush and some illiterate sittin' in a tree

Rush says "reader wont you rectify me

I've been gobbling up Viagra and munching Oxycontin

You're the one whose gonna help me get what I'm wantin'"

Can you feel it Rush, you know its true...

Read between the lines

were through with the likes of you

Its you're your worst fear here, of influence abating

despite a phat new contract, another decade of hating

But your past your peak, audience soon a slippin'

Stridency betraying a mind that's a flippin'

Were on to you Rushie boy, fathers and mothers

and all who ask; "what happens to others?"

From what dark space doth your soul reside?

With blood on your Mic, intolerance inside...

From KFBK to an adman's whore

You used to be funny, but not any more....

Talk about sexism!  Did you catch the bizarre wording of Limbaugh's remark?  "She didn't bend over and let them have their way" is a statement drenched with both sexism and homophobia, since, as we all know, only women and homos indulge in coitus per vas nefandum (anal sex).  It is also a very violent statement; that is, it summonses up images of men raping women against their will.  I don't know, nor do I care, what kind of a woman Mr. Limbaugh lives with, is married to, or whatever.  But she ought to be afraid.  Very afraid.
