Last night on MSNBC they ran the "Truth-0-Meter" on things McCain/Palin...Obama/Biden have claimed/said.

For Palin's statement that the jet was put on Ebay, they said it was "TRUE"....bing bing bing

She DID list it on Ebay, so that was the Truth they said.....

However; they neglected to use her other speech clips where she claimed that she sold the jet on Ebay, AND the speech clip where McCain tells the audience that Palin sold the Jet on Ebay, and for a profit.

It was sold off Ebay to a jet broker after 3 tries on Ebay, and for LESS than what it cost Alaska.(and minus unknown broker fees)

Sen. John McCain not only repeated that story on the stump Friday to tout his Republican running mate, but added, "She made a profit, too."

The truth is that Palin couldn't find a buyer last year when she tried to peddle to plane on eBay - and lost the state money when she did sell it.

Palin's predecessor, Frank Murkowski, originally bought the 20-year-old Westwing II for the state of Alaska for $2.7 million. She listed it on eBay for $2.5 million.

When no offers came in, Palin hired a jet broker - Turbo North Aviation in Anchorage - which sold the jet for $2.1 million to an Alaska businessman."...................................[...]

 

In other words, Liar Barbie's soccer mom approach to selling an expensive government asset was a total failure...and John McCain lied about it to try to make her look good. If they can't tell the truth right from the get-go about something relatively inconsequential, what else are they willing to lie about? Maybe if they're elected McCain intends to let Barbie sell government assets on e-bay. Isn't she just adorable? Just too cute for words...  ;>)

That's what I've been hearing lately, Graydogs.I caught Bill O'Reilly's response to the Daily Show playing his hilariously contradictory statements on teen pregnancy and blaming the parents(Britney Spears vs. Bristol Palin). I believe BilldO scolded Jon Stewart for using "eight out of context clips".

Aren't these the same people who have been paraphrasing, cropping quotes and straight-out making stuff up about Obama for the past year or so?

And Juan Williams is lying through his teeth.  Which is, you know, a matter of professional misconduct on his part.

Err, ummmm....how does that square with the FACT that Alaska still got the money...they just couldn't spend it on the bridge?  She didn't turn down ANYTHING - except an already dead in the water (so to speak!) bridge that she wasn't going to get anyway.  But she DID get the money.

It's the job of any mayor or governor to bring as much federal money into the state as possible..regardless whether it's considered pork by anyone. Her supposed opposition does not ring true. She's a fraud... But isn't she just too adorable?

That vote was just about whether the earmark would go to Louisiana or Alaska.  Obama voted not to change where it was already going on that amendment.  Ultimately the earmark was removed from the final legislation (although the money handout to AK remained).  This is about being against earmarks right?  Just checking.

Talk about a dishonest argument! The point isn't whether she used the money for better things. You are trying to switch the argument. The point is that she is going around the country telling a flat out lie. She never told congress no. That is simply absolutely untrue. In fact, she championed the very project. For the record, here is what she *actually* said about the bridge:

The problem is you can't say she is lieing.

It is impossible to prove that she did not say "no to congress".  Apparently she told her delegation not to pursue funding for the bridge anymore.

It's extremely doubtful that the book those words came from were actually written by Paul.  Only about 6 (or 7) of the books/letters attributed to Paul actually appear to have been written by him.  The remaining books were attributed to him, but differ widely in both theology and writing style from the known Pauline books/letters.

I read John Dominic Crossan's book "In Search of Paul" and learned MUCH more about Paul than I ever expected.  And I learned what NOT to read in the books attributed to him, but that contradict his true theology.

Palin asked for per diem on Thanksgiving Day Nov. 22, 2007, and the reason was the Great Alaska Shootout, NCAA college basketball tournament in Anchorage.

October 2007 Bristol went with Palin to the 3rd annual Women and Leadership Conference by Newsweek. Alaska paid the bill for a $707 a-day hotel room. Does any of this sound like a candidate who is a reformer of government waste?

I watched Williams critique some Democratic speaker during their convention.  He totally dogged the Democrat.  Oddly, Krystol seemed almost effusive in his praise afterwards in contrast.  Now I don't mind if that is really Williams opinion, but he seems to have criticisms that allign more with conservative talking points lately than real independently-minded analysis that he has done in the past (a few years ago).
