Dick Morris characterized Palin ethics investigation as "a fight going on between her sister and her husband"
Summary: On Hannity & Colmes, Dick Morris said of Gov. Sarah Palin: "[T]here's a fight going on between her sister and her husband and the husband tasered the kid." But the issues raised by this "fight" are not merely issues of family discord; Palin has been accused of misusing her office in allegedly pressuring the Alaska public safety commissioner to fire Palin's sister's former husband, a state trooper, which the commissioner, who was subsequently fired, refused to do.

Dick "The Toe-Sucking Prostitute" Morris knows as much about ethics as Sarah Palin knows about it!
This is a classic case of one liar calling another liar, a person of great conviction (there's a word Sarah might want to learn) and ethical standing.
The rightwing has out done itself yet agin......

Wow, NLT, you had me going for a long time. I really thought you were a genuine right-wing nutjob. You messed up on this post, though, and went a little too far into loony-tunes land. No one could actually be that divorced from reality. I see now that you've been giving us an excellent parody of a right-wing nutjob.
Great performance.

Mrs. Palin got caught in a lie. Oops.
I wonder if Republicans will forgive her? My guess is... yes.
Now, if she had been a Democrat, she would have been impeached as Governor for lying. Lying is very, very bad. Especially when you do it to protect your family.

Sarah Palin is an outstanding VP choice...
I am concerned about the husband tasering another family member. That's pretty bizarre. We're starting to get into Springer Country here. What if he loses it and goes on a taser rampage in the White House?
Maybe the whole family could appear on Doctor Phil?
The other problem is that Palin could possibly be prosecuted for the illegal firing of a safety official under Alaska law.

I'm sorry, I misread that...
I thought that Palin's husband had tasered someone's kid? Still, I would like to know how many tasers are in the Palin's family, because this is concerning to the American people? Tasering children I thought was a felony, if not attempted murder?

... It would never be asked about a man.
Oh please. Anyone remember Bill Clinton's life being scrutinized under a microscope? This has zilch to do with her being a woman.
The only sexist stuff would be questions about her being able to juggle parenthood & VP. That, would never be asked of a man.

My wife was channel surfing..... stopped at Wolf Blitzer.... who was interviewing Glen Beck...... Beck was doing his part in trying to justify and cover for Mrs Palin like the good simple-minded rightwinger he is.....
Not to waste time typing details (I'm sure we all know how Beck speaks his form of BS)..... but all I could think while watching Beck and reading about the toe-sucker and Hannity here.... got me to realize that if Sarah Palin was a liberal Democrat instead of a rightwing Republican.... Morris, Hannity, and Beck and all the other bobble heads would be flipping out at the painfully obvious fact that this woman IS NOT qualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency..... they know it, you know it...... live with it!
Oh.... the hypocrisy of it all!

I would rather her be one heartbeat away from president than Barack being the heart beating president!
That's because you are an uneducated troll. If you were an actual human being with life experience (something you lack in common with the one you want one heartbeat away from the Presidency), you would not have such impaired thought processes.

"A man would never have had to go through this...It would never be asked about a man. It's the deep sexism that runs through our society."
These whiny cries of sexism from the righties are more hollow than their own skulls.
Was it sexism when Karl Rove conducted a phony poll to find out, "Would you be more or less likely to vote for John McCain...if you knew he had fathered an illegitimate black child?"

Well Nerz, it's part of the reich wing double standard. You see, for years the reich wing has been buying up control of cable and news, and through that ownership created a media outlet that has spewed their hate and venom against all things democratic for years now. Now some of those organizations have broken from their reich wing masters, and chose to be unbiased. That was unacceptable for the reich wing who demand all be black and white. If there were a third choice, independants might become well enough informed that they may choose their sides on their own. That scares the right wing, so they pushed hard. Some say too hard, because those same groups decided to go more left. Now some reich wing candidates are getting a fraction of the anger the left has suffered for years, and what does the reich wing do?
"It's sooo unfair to treat someone this way, and we can't for the life of us understand why you lefties don't support us in condemning this kind of mud slinging! Don't you believe in freedom of the press?"
And the worm turns again...

Whoa! Anybody hear about this???
Noonan, Murphy trash Palin on hot mic: 'It's over'
A segment with NBC's Chuck Todd ended today, Republican consultant Mike Murphy and Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan were caught on a live mike ridiculing the choice of Sarah Palin.
"It's over," said Noonan, and then responded to a question of whether Palin is the most qualified Republican woman McCain could have chosen.
"The most qualified? No. I think they went for this — excuse me — political bullsh** about narratives," she said. "Every time Republicans do that ... because that's not where they live and it's not what they're good at and they blow it."
Murphy chimed in:
"The greatness of McCain is no cynicism, and this is cynical."
Here it is on You Tube:

Nerzog and Pete,
I have a feeling this is what most Republicans really think.
As I wrote on another thread, if the GOP was smart they'd use McCain's choice of Palin for VP as proof that the guy should be committed to a mental institution. Then they could nominate another Presidential candidate.

Jeter,
I agree with you, how can anybody not honestly believe this was a cynical pick. Apparently she wasn't fully vetted, which is what the media is doing and they should since McCain didn't. She is unqualified and inexperienced to be president, who can really argue that with a straight face. I think McCain caved into the pressure from his evangelical base with this pick. He figured she would so energize them they would flood to the polls, and she will be insulated from any firestorm as much as possible. The dust settles and it's back to McCain vs Obama, with the extreme rightwing of the party waiting to pull the lever for a heroine of theirs.
What is appalling is that this "Christianists" are such one issue voters, as long as she is pro-life they are on board with her, forget the fact that she is uniquely unqualified. It's so hypocritical and pathetic, they deserve to be beaten badly this fall. McCain is just as pathetic, in my opinion.
I am sure she will rock the convention house tonight and her and her supporters will play the victim all fall, gee, can't wait.

This was a jaw-droppingly bad choice!!
This election campaign has seen possibly two of the dumbest mistakes ever made by people running for POTUS. First you had 9i11ani not campaigning until Florida and now McCain's pick of Palin (say that fast three times!!). When the books are written about this people who read i will shudder.

It's really not a negative that she's not experienced in national politics, and she does have some 'executive' experience, although no enough.
The reason she was picked was not because they wanted to make the far right happy. That's the reason they didn't pick Liebermann or Romney or some other moderate Republican.
She was picked because they felt the only way they could win was on the 'we are the candidates that will bring change to the White House'.
That's why McCain won the primary. Remember, he was way down, and then he convinced people with tomfoolery and distortions that he was a maverick and would be a great agent of change.
His strength got him nominated. But the distortions that got him nominated are turning out to be pretty thin right now after closer examination. The only way to strengthen that 'we are change' message was to bring a real outsider into the pairing.
It's her outsider status, it's her different tack that McCain chose. Alaska residents are different, and more independent, and less likely to fit in with the regular crowd, and it's that difference that McCain will push for the next two months.

Inspired pick in my view (unfortunately). Want to see more of her though especially her acceptance speech tonight.

She has “it”.
She is physically attractive but not so that it’s distracting. She was prim and proper in dress and demeanor with an earthy American heartland voice to match. Self possessed and comfortable in her own skin, she gave her acceptance speech in a natural relaxed manner, smiling easily. She seemed to know her place was secondary, yet her body language was independent and reserved when interacting directly with Sen. McCain, showing respect for herself as well. She was at home on the stage. We instinctively want to see our best rise to the top. You want to like this person. This all adds up to charisma potentially --- political gold.
Even her husband, likewise attractive with an easy smile and leading-man stature, seemed to be calmly taking it all in with the stride of a hail-fellow-well-met. And the rest of her family was attractive to boot. They will not be a drag, but an asset. Appearances are so important.
On the bright side though in this case from my partisan Democratic viewpoint, women don’t age as well as men. If I was thinking all of the above about a man, I’d be speculating very positively here on long term Presidential prospects. Her real shot to climb the big rock candy mountain though is to win the Vice Presidency this time out, given her lack of experience. If her ticket loses, by the time she would have the resume and the opening, it would likely be too late for her.

HANNITY: "Well, I got to tell you, one of the things that has emerged in this campaign, in my view, is -- Sarah Palin has been now in the public spotlight for five days. There have been tougher and harder questions that have been asked relentlessly by a biased news media about her daughter than about Barack Obama, who's been running for 19 months. "
Are you F'ing kidding me?!?!?!?!??
