Limbaugh falsely claimed Biden "wanted to split Iraq into three different countries by ethnic lines"

On the August 28 broadcast of hisnationally syndicated radio show, Rush Limbaugh falsely claimed that Sen. JoeBiden "wanted to split Iraqinto three different countries by ethnic lines." Limbaugh went on to say,"That would have created a civil war. He did not want to win." Infact, as Media Matters for Americahas noted, Biden introduced a"five-point plan" to "[m]aintain a unified Iraq by decentralizing it andgiving Kurds, Shiites and Sunnis breathing room in their own regions."The plan also states that "[t]he Iraqi constitution already provides forfederalism" and that "[t]he central government would be responsiblefor common interests, like border security and the distribution of oil revenues."

I caught this yesterday and laughed when Rush said Biden's plan would have created a civil war. It was designed to manage the civil war that was already underway.

No, splitting Iraq would have created a civil war for territories given to the Sunnis and Shiites.  Not to mention, a probable war between Turkey and Kurds. As it turns out, Biden was wrong and Obama was wrong on the surge.  McCain was right, I know it hurts you to admit it.

Do you even read the articles? Who said anything about splitting Iraq other than the Water Carrier?

And as for McCain being right about the surge, why don't you get back to me when Iraq is stable AND the troops are back home.

the numbskulls appear to desperately keep this story alive and in the forefront. Flies in the face of his idol's public wishes to create a free democracy in an invaded country. And i submit to you, this idea will create three more " israel's "  simply due to the law of unintended consequences.

So according to Limbaugh, the United States is divided into 50 decentralized territories.

This would fall into his line of thinking when it comes to weakening the federal US government and returning the power to the states to govern themselves self-sufficiently.

He did not want to win.

Insulting and untruthful...

Quotes like that are exactly why Barack Obama and Joe Biden need to take it to McCain big time...because McCain, the so-called honorable former POW, is suggesting the same thing.

Isn't it funny to watch PigBoy carry GOP water, even after he swore he wouldn't? Six months ago, he had nothing good to say about McGrampy. Of course, if somebody was paying me $30 million a year, I'd say whatever they wanted, as well.

Notice how they have successfully shifted the argument onto whether or not the "Surge" worked, and not whether we should have invaded to begin with? Pretty clever message management.... it's what they do best.

Funny, the goals of the surge have not been met yet, and we still have more troops in Iraq than we did pre surge. They keep saying that it's worked, but it hasn't, and if it had, why isn't everyone home already?

We are not afraid...

Rush and some illiterate sittin' in a tree
Rush says "reader wont you rectify me
I've been gobbling up Viagra and munching Oxycontin
You're the one whose gonna help me get what I'm wantin'"

Can you feel it Rush, you know its true...
Read between the lines
were through with the likes of you

Its you're your worst fear here, of influence abating
despite a phat new contract, another decade of hating

But your past your peak, audience soon a slippin'
Stridency betraying a mind that's a flippin'

Were on to you Rushie boy, fathers and mothers
and all who ask; "what happens to others?"

From what dark space doth your soul reside?
With blood on your Mic, intolerance inside...

From KFBK to an adman's whore

You used to be funny, but not any more....

Biden said he wanted to split Iraq into three parts.  That's a fact.  Of course since that makes Biden look bad, Media Matters wants to cover for him by trying to make it look like Biden didn't actually say that.  Shame on you Media Matters for being dishonest once again.
