Atlanta Journal-Constitution uncritically reported RNC spokesperson's false assertion that Reid "took nearly $68,000 from Abramoff"

Summary: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution uncritically quoted a Republican National Committee spokeswoman's false assertion that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid "took nearly $68,000 from [former Washington lobbyist Jack] Abramoff." In fact, Abramoff made contributions only to Republicans, not Democrats.

*yawn*

This is just parsing by MM. Even MM admits that Reid took a bunch of cash from Abramoff's PAC and his clients; and that's how Abramoff funneled cash to politicians he dealt with!

You mean besides Bob Ney, Tom DeLay, Tom Feeney, and David Safavian, who took bribes directly from Abramoff?

**double yawn **

Once again, Shoes slithers in here, post some nonsensical crap about one little insignificant part of the story that's supposed to make MMFA look bad and her side look good (which it doesn't), and slithered back out before anyone saw her.

I wish you had the courage to stick around and discuss the crap you post here, Shoes.  You might actually learn something in the process...

Shoes doesn't really want to come back, then she'd have to defend the criminal scumbag Ralph Reed, and his fundraising buddy John McCain (who actually knew what Abramoff was up to)

Shoes the only "yawn" is reading you and your partisan bias crap.

Posted by Taz in reply to JLyons

yes reading loony-left partisan bias crap is far more entertaining.

Your crap is the least entertaining of all, Taz.

Posted by snoopy in reply to Taz

Nah, what's really entertaining is watching Bob Barr disect "the maverick" to make John be seen as "the horses' ass".

This is entertaining too:

[Pelosi] is committed to her global warming fanaticism to the point where she has said that she’s just trying to save the planet. … We all know that someone did that over 2,000 years ago, they saved the planet — we didn’t need Nancy Pelosi to do that.

Bachman is a insane.  She's got those crazy eyes as well.  Anyone else see her on c-span talking about how much she loves drilling? (for oil, that is)

This is why religion has no place in politics.  Psychotic, superstitious nutcase.

Posted by Brabantio in reply to NiceguyEddie

"Psychotic" is the key word to describe that quote.  We don't need to worry about the planet because Jesus died on a cross almost 2,000 years ago.  What strikes me about that is that even if one believes in Christ, believes that he died for our sins, saved mankind, whatever, that has absolutely nothing to do with global climate change.  By that line of thinking a potential nuclear holocaust is nothing to fret over, since Jesus already saved the planet.

The fact that this sort of person got elected into any position anywhere is highly disturbing.

And you know what's really, really hillarious? The new DNC ad on Exxon John!

Be sure to check out the new Exxon John site too!

In fact, as Media Matters for America previously noted, while Reid received contributions from Abramoff's firm's PAC (to which Abramoff did not contribute)

Even Neal Boortz claims the Atlanta Journal-Constitution doesn't have much credibility

This proves everything about the Republicans..

I wasn't aware Reid was running for office ?

I wasn't aware Reid was running for office ?

According to Wikipedia, Harry reid was re-elected in 2004, meaning he still has two years to go on his current term. GOP spokesperson Katie Wright was simply resorting to the old "change-the-subject-when-you-have-no-defense" ploy, which the Repugs do quite frequently nowadays.....

greasing the skids maneuver.

Oops, explains the press coverup though...

Next week, John McCain will attend the fundraiser for his campaign, which is being hosted by a close ally of Jack Abramoff, Ralph Reed:

“John McCain believes in a strong national defense, a smaller, more accountable government, steady economic growth and opportunity, the dignity of life and traditional values,” wrote Reed, whose 2006 campaign for lieutenant governor sank under the weight of evidence detailing his relationship with Washington lobbyist Jack Abramoff — much of it uncovered by McCain’s Indian Affairs Committee.
