LA Times missed its own reporting, didn't note McCain's absence from Congress

Summary: Two Los Angeles Times articles quoted Sen. John McCain criticizing Congress for going into recess without voting on energy legislation, but both failed to mention that McCain has not cast a vote in the Senate since April 8, according to the Times' own reporting.

Gramps McCain had more important things to do.  Like get on line for the Early Bird Special at Cracker Barrel.......

I'm just glad nobody has shown Grandpa how to use the internets because he'd probably stay up late every night watching Britney Spears and Paris Hilton sex tapes...and miss that Early Bird Special.  ;>)

AA -

Those of us on the left know a LOT of things that you on the right either don't know or refuse to acknowledge....

Like the fact that even though McCain has missed 60% of the votes, that Obama has missed about 45% of them.  Easy to see that neither are earning their outrageous salaries.

John McCain has missed 399 votes (63.3%) during the current Congress

Barack Obama has missed 282 votes (44.8%) during the current Congress

And by doing a rough count on Barack Obama's Voting Record page (http://obama.senate.gov/votes/index.cfm?start=1), he's voted at least 18 times since the last time Gramps McCain cast a vote.

They are both part time workers as far as im concerned.

Posted by wzwriter in reply to Science101

But Gramps is practically retired at this point.

Posted by Science101 in reply to wzwriter

So then Obama is elite because hes retiring early?

I wonder about any white haired old man who runs an ad with Paris Hilton, Britney Spears and phallic symbols in the background... and then says he's proud of it.   ;>)

Posted by Science101 in reply to IRONY 101

Im fairly certain that any old man would be pleasantly happy for a few minutes behind the scenes with either of those whacky girls.  Beggers cant be choosers.

I wonder of First Prize in that beauty contest was a bottle of painkillers.....

I wonder if that contest'll be aired on The O'Reilly Factor

Well, you can get a pretty good look at it over at huffpo.

In other words, MM didn't note OBAMA's absence from the Senate also! LOL!

MM is not being forthright.

Not cool, MM not cool at all.

If Obama had criticized his congressional colleagues for not working, then maybe you'd have a point.  What a bummer--it would have been your first.

I wonder if he has to get his Secret Service Agents to pre-chew his food for him....  :-)

Posted by jeter2 in reply to wzwriter

Bush could have used that service...especially with pretzels ;-)

Posted by wzwriter in reply to jeter2

I'm pretty sure Bush has to get someone to cut up his meat - he can't be trusted with sharp objects.

So last week we had to put up with the chattering punditry going on and on about how presumptious and arrogant Obama is for acting presidential but I'm sure we won't hear a peep about McCain claiming that he will take powers over Congress that are not granted to the President if he were to win.  Yeah, that sounds about right.
