Question for Fox News: Do you think any of these people might be terrorists?

Commenting on Barack and Michelle Obama's on-stage"fist bump" before the start of a June 3 speech by Barack Obama, host E.D. Hill previewed a segment on the June 6 edition of Fox News' America's Pulse by saying, "Afist bump? A pound? A terrorist fist jab? The gesture everyone seems tointerpret differently."

It's only terrorism if Obama does it.  Or rather, It's only terrorism if (insert name of random Democrat) does it.

Really, after this and the Moyers thing, you'd think Fox News couldn't sink any lower.

You'd think...

Posted by dr. matt in reply to dbeden4153

I think MMFA owes someone some credit for originally compiling those photos.

 .....namely ME!

Posted by wolf kotenberg in reply to dr. matt

congratulations and thank you. I am so happy to see Barack and Michelle Obama being an american family. bet they barbeque also on fathers day..

Posted by g_keyes2280 in reply to dr. matt

Your version was certainly better: more and bigger pictures, plus captions. Did MMFA goof?

Posted by pete592

Don't forget the U.S. Army.

(watch the end of the commercial)

Posted by RABBITLUVR in reply to pete592

Good to see that Fox has denigrated our armed forces too, calling them the enemy.

Hey Jeff Christie... how about a show on this one?

Posted by wzwriter in reply to RABBITLUVR

Hey Jeff Christie... how about a show on this one?

Right after Jeff Christie does a show about his arrest with that male prostitute in Pittsburgh back in the '70s.....

Posted by RABBITLUVR in reply to wzwriter

Never will happen.

Posted by wzwriter in reply to RABBITLUVR

Never will happen.

But I'm gonna bring it up here at MMFA every time his name gets mentioned until it DOES happen.....

Posted by RABBITLUVR in reply to wzwriter

Oh, I agree. He needs to have it rubbed in his face constantly.

Isn't there a way to obtain public records of that incident from the PGH police? Surely there must be some record of the arrest...

Posted by ChangeWashington in reply to pete592

Even the US Army are terrorist huh?

Someone needs to shut FOXNEWS down for good. They are the real domestic terrorist of our nation.

Posted by wolf kotenberg in reply to pete592

the good ol' fist-bump..............forever deemed terrorrist by our friend ED " Jackass " Hill.

Too funny!  Thanks for posting this.

I LOVE THIS!

Another Right Wing toady gets shown for the vacuous idiot she is. Rachel Maddow nailed it on Countdown last night; every time one of these lying bastards tosses out crap like this, we need to hold them up for the ridicule and scorn they deserve. That's the best way to fight the odious Right Wing Propaganda machine.

Posted by Governor in reply to nerzog

I think (hope) Fox News will not survive this election.

Posted by RABBITLUVR in reply to Governor

As long as there is a market for stupidity, Fox will continue to thrive. Unfortunately, I do not see stupidity waning any time soon. In fact, it seems to be increasing.

Posted by wzwriter in reply to RABBITLUVR

As long as there is a market for stupidity, Fox will continue to thrive.

These must be a market for stupidity, seeing as they're still making Adam Sandler m0vies...   :-)

Posted by RABBITLUVR in reply to wzwriter

Never watched 'em... guess my brain is still safe, huh?

Posted by worrierking in reply to wzwriter

And in these hard times, Americans parted with more than $40,000,000.00 this weekend to watch the new Adam Sandler movie.

I'd like to tell myself that it was so hot that people would watch anything to get out of the heat, but I'm done with lying to myself.

The average American scares the hell out of me.

Posted by RABBITLUVR in reply to worrierking

I've given up on the average American, to be perfectly honest.

Posted by dbeden4153 in reply to worrierking

Hey, I can understand knocking Sandler's movies, but you gotta admit a lot of his SNL stuff was comedy gold, like "Canteen boy" and "The Lunchlady."

Posted by wzwriter in reply to dbeden4153

Adam Sandler reminds me of a couple of obnoxious kids I knew back in Junior High.  He's never evolved past the Right Grade.

And I never saw ANYTHING worthwhile that he did on SNL.  Especially Opera Man.

Posted by Col. Harlan Sanders in reply to worrierking

Yup, King. Maybe we should stop ragging on the star-spangled bedwetters. I find a lot of them as scary as any fist-jab. While the average American is still screaming about a proposed "bridge to nowhere" and a Woodstock museum, and justifiably complaining about gas prices (but being suckered into thinking it's all of those taxes making the price high) I hear fewer Americans complaining about the real Big Government crazy spending.

Here are some stats that make the Sandler movie look like a shrewd investment.

On Morning Joe they even had footage of Pat Buchanan giving the fist bump/pound...whatever it's called.

Leave it to FOX...& especially E.D. Hill to suggest something sinister.

Hey the last photo has my namesake giving some fist! :-O

I. Am. Not. A. Terrorist. And neither is he ;-)

Yes, last is very fitting.

Posted by dbeden4153 in reply to jeter2

Jeter, are you sure?  I mean, that looks like a terroristy way to say you're not a terrorist. ;)

Posted by jeter2 in reply to dbeden4153

D,

If I was a terrorist I couldn't tell you anyway. So you'll just have to go on wondering :-O

hehehe.

Posted by gg in reply to jeter2

Personally, I think they should haul her butt down to the FBI headquarters for a little interview since she seems to have first hand knowledge of how the terrorists greet each other.

Posted by roundhouse in reply to gg

Perhaps you meant to write, "fist hand" knowledge? ;)

I don't think that is the most important thing. But if you are going to make that call, plese make this call:

see video:  Tell Congress that Bush and Israel Have No Legal Justification to Attack Iran TOLL-FREE NUMBER FOR CONGRESS (just ask for your representatives' offices)
1-800-788-9372  National call-in day to tell your members of Congress to stop an attack on Iran

Posted by JLyons in reply to representativepress

Thanks but I have a feeling Bush may do whatever he wants up until the election. And we should all be scared.

ED Hill his a GOP hack and a hater.  How many times will FOX have these types of insults and continue to get away with them?  Who ever heard of someone being a terrorist because of the fist bump? Where did that come from?  Hey ED Hill? FU.

Actually I never accused you of being that person, but joked that somebody else outed you as him by calling you Suebob. I don't know who outed you, I just saw it in passing. But if you aren't that person, why are you two so defensive?

I suggest developing a sense of humor. That will get you further than constant harrangues.

We all know that THIS guy is a terrorist:

Still waiting to hear from that Thing about McClellan's book...

He's too stupid to be Evil Incarnate. He's just a petulant little Chimpy.

He's Evil Lite - tastes bad, less filling.  :-)

Posted by RABBITLUVR in reply to wzwriter

Sales of that brand are slumping wonderfully... down to about 27% of all drinkers prefer 'Evil Lite' over other national brands such as 'Maverick Red' and 'Hawaiian Tropical Blue'. But the 'Maverick Red' drinkers don't realize yet that their brand of choice is just a jazzed-up product marketed by the 'Evil Lite Brewery'. Same crappy beer in a snazzier bottle.

ED Hill should be Fired. But we are dealing with FOX so that will not happen.

Posted by RABBITLUVR in reply to JLyons

The chances of that happening are about as good as Jeff Christie coming clean about his Pittsburgh arrest and the subsequent termination of his terminally unfunny show.

Posted by ajzito

Well, maybe the elder Bush, since he has connections to the Saudi regime.  Really, this is the nuttiest of the nutty things I have ever seen on FOX.

Posted by JLyons in reply to ajzito

AJ

It is beyond nutty, its sad but I have a feeling it is a preview of what FOX will say to the stupid people who watch them.

Oh, defintely.  All terrorists.  Every one.

Like they say...  Fox News: Fair and Balanced.

And I'm J. Edgar Hoover.

Posted by NiceguyEddie

LOL! Hahahahahahaha!

I love it.  For the record - it IS terrorism when the New York Yankees do it, but it's patriotic and all-American when the Boston Red Sox do it.

Posted by nerzog

What makes this so pathetic is that a large number of FOXbots will hear this and take it to heart. Hill's remark is just part of that steady little drip, drip, drip of insidious little innuendos for the feeble minded .... Obama is a Muslim....drip..... Obama was sworn in on a Koran....drip..... Obama is a radical .... drip..... these aren't the droids you're looking for....

Posted by Governor in reply to nerzog

Agreed.  Terrorists killed 3,000 Americans on September 11, 2001.  It is plainly and simply beneath contempt for her to link a man who will likely be the next President of The United States of America with people who have absolutely no respect for human life.  No question mark about it.

This type of celebration is very very common in the English game of Cricket. (Kinda like Baseball)

This has nothing to do with nationality or ethnicity either:

This is good for America to see.  Fox News lied to you about sooooooo many things. Truthiness is not truth.  Sensationalizing the news may be good for ratings, but it sucks for our country.  Terrorist fist jab?  Does it become any clearer that Fox's agenda is to villify not only Obama, but anyone with an Islamic name by constantly relating them to terrorist.  Moreover, the fact that athletes have been giving "dap" to each other for well over 20 years makes me wonder what this ditz is doing on a Fox "News" network.  Emphasis on the "News".

This was really bad; maybe the worst so far. It's one thing to make your tv station a far-right wing talking head tabloid, it's quite another to have some announcer make a comment like this. WTF?

They should have added the ol' "terrorist fist jab" to this:

While I'm not a Faux News fan, they were not the only media outlet flummoxed by the dap thing.  I refuse to believe that the media folks didn't know what the dap is all about.  After all, the compiled photos show it's widespread use by folks of all genders, races and ages.  I live and work among college-aged students and have shared a dap or two myself.  Sheesh!

Apology? Dan Rather got fired for calling George Bush a slacker. Fox will keep pushing the terrorist angle unless the bitch is fired.

You photo gallery only shows one side. Did you find any photos of actual terrorists doing the fist bump? I doubt it.

Maybe we can compromise. Hill can keep her job if she apologizes AND produces one photo of an actual terrorist doing a fist bump.

The office of the presidency represents all Americans internationally. It is demeaning and disrespectful to use the "dap" or other such childish signals when delivering a national presentation or speech. What next, "Hail To The Chief" played by a hip-hop artist or heavy metal? High-Fives when diplomats greet each other as "Hi Bro"? The first lady acting like Brittany Spears? If there is one thing that will sink Obama and his African-American signals it is this "third-world country" mentality----other Americans are watching and wondering just how far it goes.

It is demeaning for all Americans to have a President disrespect AND disregard the fu*king CONSTITUTION! It's demeaning and disrespectful of all Americans when the President can't speak English! It's demeaning and disrespectful for all Americans when the President to reveals the name of a covert CIA agent! It's demeaning and disrespectul for all Americans when the President LIES his way into a war which has killed 4,100 American citizens and seriously injured over 25,000. THAT'S demeaning AND disrespectful! Why the hell weren't YOU ranting about THAT!

What next, "Hail To The Chief" played by a hip-hop artist or heavy metal? High-Fives when diplomats greet each other as "Hi Bro"? The first lady acting like Brittany Spears?

Ah, did you miss Bush chest bump a Air Force graduate during a time of war?

If there is one thing that will sink Obama and his African-American signals it is this "third-world country" mentality----other Americans are watching and wondering just how far it goes.

So THAT'S you problem, you don't like African Americans. Make it easy on yourself. Just say you can't stand the thought of a African American man becoming President. All this bull sh*t about 'third world mentality' is just that bull sh*t since you choose to ignore the former President showing HIS 'third world mentality bump' with a tennis player. What makes their bump acceptable and Michelle and Barack's not acceptable? Race?

Perhaps we should take a cue from Bill Oreilly and initiate boycotts of Fox advertisers.

With Hannity at the head, and others, Fox News represents the rankest forms of Bigotry, Cowardace, and Inanity.

Posted by jmh in reply to jmh

oops,

that would be "Cowardice" which rhymes with "inanis" (from the Latin)

As Hannity rhymes with inanity...

Posted by stichey

Based on the Fox "news" report, I think that Howie Mandell and contestants of NBC's DEAL OR NO DEAL should also be added to the terrorist watch list for their flagrant terrorist demonstrations via "fist jab."  In fact, who really know what those models are putting in those cases...today a monetary amount, tomorrow BOOM????  And don't even get me started on that shadowy Banker figure...  At least we can be at ease that this administration's rampant (and illegal) financial tracking methods should ensure that his money is not coming from terrorist sources.

Re: Demand an apology from FOX:  It's pointless to ask for an apology from a bigot.  It's both cheaper (and safer) to avoid him (or her).  Unfortunately for us, not only are they many in number, but they've made their way up the ladder to where they're broadcasting their ignorance and their bigotry--in general, their various hatreds.  It would be interesting to examine how so many of them got to their exalted positions or how we, as an audience, permitted such bad shows (like the political talk shows not only on FOX) to continue for so long.

I guess we can all say goodbye to free speech rights when Barack Obama becomes President.

Posted by BottleBlonde in reply to RINO Hunter

It took almost 100 posts until one of the Media Matters weevils came out of the woodwork to demolish on of his favorite strawman arguments.

Media Matters never said that a reporter on Fox News couldn't say a stupid, untrue smear. Free speech is not at risk here.

If you want partisan journalists to say stupid and untrue smears like that, I say go for it. It makes your whole movement look corrupt and idiotic, but if you want her to have the right to say these things, you have it.

Posted by RINO Hunter in reply to BottleBlonde

If Media Matters has their way there won't be any conservatives left on the air, period. If you remember Media Matters came up with a black list of conservatives to be taken down next. "It's Not Just Imus." Media Matters IS NOT a watchdog organization. They are an advocacy organization who's main goal is to get all conservatives out of the media.

Let's face it, this was scripted by the agenda-driven FAUX management. ED Hill just read the TelePrompTer. But she read it out of free will - she could have stopped at any time if she had a conscience or a shred of professionalism.

But who knows? By FAUX's standards, maybe we better keep an eye on Lieberman just in case. :)
