O'Reilly compared Moulitsas to white supremacist David Duke
Summary: Bill O'Reilly compared Markos Moulitsas, founder of the progressive Daily Kos blog, to white supremacist David Duke and criticized Newsweek for its decision to hire Moulitsas as a regular contributor, stating: "And Newsweek magazine, by the way, has legitimized him by giving him a columnist position. I talked to the editor by email, and I said I can't believe that you're -- that's like hiring David Duke. Again, I use Duke too much, but I have to -- the level of hatred coming out of that website is unprecedented."

BO was right on this one. Moulitsas is disquisting, and in now way should he be hired by Newsweek. But, it is just another example of the heavy left wing media bias in this country. The pictures his site put up with the photos from the wedding of Jeena Bush served no purpose whatsoever.
The left goes nuts when the media refers to McCain as a maverick, but defends this guy and his trash site. BO was 100 percent right.

Are you kidding? He loves him some Michael Medved.
"Senators Obama, Clinton and other leaders who seek to enlarge the scope of government face more formidable obstacles than they realize. Their desire to impose a European-style welfare state and a command-and-control economy not only contradicts our proudest political and economic traditions, but the new revelations about American DNA "

POV doesn't hate the troops, per se. He just has a problem with anyone who shows him up for the ignorant fool that he is.... :-)

That's crazy talk.
Bill O'Reilly does participate in hate talk. So do many of the people that comment on his blog. FreeRepublic posters, as well as DailyKos posters, do not restrain themselves, but Kos does.
Markos is not the same as David Duke. He's not even as obnoxious as Bill O'Reilly.
See what righty, Bill O'Reilly supporters sent to the Daily Kos website - talk about hate speech! Here's the first two...
http://www.dailykos.com/
You are a queer little f***** retard!! Stay gay you c*** s****er!!
You have gone too far with this liberal, fascist bull****....sit down and SHUT UP and stop posting despicable stories to further your own ends. I am sick and tired of the radical left and I hope people like Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck can exert their influence to SHUT YOU DOWN!!!!! If you don't like America, get the f*** out!

Most despicable man in the country? Off the chart hate? Worse than David Duke?
Do you seriously believe that Markos and DKos are even close to those descriptions? Where was O'Reilly's outrage for the past 10 years or so while the major right wing blogs were preaching violence towards "the damn liberals" and wishing death and torture upon Democratic leaders? Where was his anger when Malkin posted the real physical addresses of bloggers she disagreed alongside a faux plea to "Not do anything harmful with the information"?
As for his complaints of lefty blogs somehow cheapening the political discourse of this country, really? It seems to me that the rise of wingnut AM radio, pundits like BO, Hanity, Coulter and the programming of Fox News itself has done far more to do that than the blogs on either side.
O'Reilly's just steamed that the left is fighting back using the same tactics that have been used against them for so long.

Personally, I think BO is pissed because Kos dug up that video of O'Reilly throwing a violent temper tantrum when he worked for Inside Edition. Well, that's not the only reason of course. Kos and the bloggers take the fight for hearts and minds to the people. Now that the real playing field has been identified Kos and the rest are winning the culture war.

No, O'Reilly's totally correct about the hate level over there, but he's wrong about the Duke comparison. That's ridiculous.
One of the reasons I've lost total respect for the DAILY KOS is that when he and the others use the same vitriolic language to describe Hillary Clinton as they do Bush and Cheney, you can't take them seriously. It's moronic and dishonest.
About 99% of the hate is generated by Obama supporters-- which is going to doom him in November if he gets the nom.

It's getting ridiculous when even HE acknowledges that he uses David Duke a lot. You know, when you use one thing over and over, it kinda loses its effectiveness. It's like Michael Scott's favorite line "that's what she said." After the 456th reference, it loses its charm and spontaneity.

Clearly there is a lot of hatred and misinformation spread on Daily Kos, but that is the fault of those who write there, not those who merely supplied the forum for free speech. If O'Reilly were truly a free speech advocate, he would not being calling for this.
true, but KOS is just as bad.
Compare him with Digby. When the hate level reaches a certain point (99% from Obama fans) she slices the comments. And now she moderates them all the time.
She's rational. And fair-minded. He's not.

BO is correct on this topic. Daily Kos & Huffington Post are websites that contain minimal on par content, while promoting far left moonbat rhetoric.
MMFA at least provides some reliable data to backup their viewpoints, regardless how parsing many of them are, but still there is something. KOS and HP do nothing but promote liberal agenda lies - like the accusation of McCain not voting for Bush. I mean, cmon guys, they gotta do better than that.

Are they liars too? No, they are just morons for buying into a very clear lie. Seeing as how McCain campaigned for Bush that election year, and even with Bush's approval rating of under 30%, McCain could have been wiser to say he didnt vote for Bush. Only someone telling the truth against all costs right now would come out and say "I voted and campainged for Bush".
Its a he said/she said smear. Arianna has zero proof of anything, and theres no way to disprove her. So she can get away with creating a false story. This isnt rocket science

Nobody knows what lever McCain pulled when in the booth in 2000 (I'm not sure he remembers himself). Arianna stated that McCain SAID he did not vote for Bush. This has been confirmed by two named guests at the party. A third guest at the party told the LA TIMES anonymously (as she is a friend of CIndy McCain's) that Mrs. McCain also said she didn't vote for Bush (she said she didn't vote for President in that election). McCain has produced no witnesses to support the claim that he did not say that he did not vote for Bush. So the supporting evidence is ALL on Arianna's side at this time.
Next lie, please?

Columbus has no basis to call Huffington a liar either for that matter. Was Columbus at the party?

Excellent point about the pictures, but I can't even find it at Kos, not yet at least. But O'Reilly does not link to it either, so be sure to notify him of your outrage as well.
You have no point about the reason for the David Duke comparison. O'Reilly made the comparison, but it is he who did not elaborate. The juxtaposition of Jenna Bush enjoying a young-adult life free from combat does not make Markos a racist cult leader, so it's on O'Reilly to explain it.

I was conveying what I surmise the Kos poster was trying to convey. That way, I can further the case that conveying such a thing is not tantamount to hatred and violence toward an entire race of people, and thus, invalidating O'Reilly's comparison.
It was not my intention to derail the thread into a p***ing contest over George W's lack of tangible sacrifice during his war. That intent belongs to you.

So you were rationalizing the pictures used by Kos next to Bush's wedding photos, and by trying to invalidate O'Reillys comparison to Duke because Duke's a racist, and the Kos guy just hates Bush, not an entire race?
I think O'Reilly's comparison went directly to hatred and the spreading of it......he is hardly one to talk, and the comparison may be over the top and not an exact match, but the Daily Kos is full of hatred, Duke certainly is, and for good measure, so is O'Reilly. As I said, they all deserve one another.

I can't believe he actually calls out the comments section of the Daily Kos, again. Has he visited www.hannity.com? or his own web-site? I've spent considerable amount of time there and there's been the same level of hate on those web-sites for years as has been on the Daily Kos or Huffington Post. And you know what? That's completely fine, because that's free speech. The beauty of the internet is that anyone with a keyboard and a web connection can use it as a forum to voice their opinions. You know, not everyone has a prime-time slot on cable news, Bill.
And is he really that blind to the arrogance of President Bush? Mr. "I gave up golf to support the troops"? Man, that must suck to sacrifice such an integral part of your life to show solidarity with our fighting men and women. Unless, of course, he didn't.

There are examples of extremes on both sides, it's true, but the attitude and the behavior of those on the far right is demonstrably much worse than the average person on the far right. The hatred is more intense and less reasonable, the vitriol is much more personal rather than substantial and objective. There's nothing comparable to the average rightwing bigot on the left.

There is no difference between the exteme elements on the "left" or the "right" side of the isle
The extreme left HATES what is being done to this country. The extreme right hates simply because it makes them feel good (and duping the electorate into voting them into prower by pandering fear and hate was an extra special side benefit. But the emporer finally has no clothes and the voters finally have realized it).

F*** IT! We'll do it live! We'll do it LIVE!!
Oh man, I know this is off topic, but I just can't get enough of that clip. Talk about a meltdown. That was a defining moment for Olberman and O'Reilly. It showed everyone the type of person O'Reilly is: obnoxious, short-tempered and generally not a nice guy. . . Can you imagine what he says of screen on Fux News??

O'REILLY: "I canceled my subscription -- I still get it at work -- to Newsweek magazine because of that. And I think everybody else should, as well. I mean, once you start to legitimize this -- like Syracuse University."
Canceled his subscription to Newsweek, but still reads it at work? Wow Bill, that's some boycott you've got going there. While you were at it, did you ever renew your subscription to the "Paris Business Review"?
