CNN's King reported that Martinez had been tapped as RNC chair, omitted Schiavo memo, pattern of blaming staff for missteps
Summary: In reporting that Sen. Mel Martinez had accepted an offer to become chairman of the Republican National Committee, CNN's John King failed to mention Martinez's admission in April 2005 that his office had authored a memo touting the Terri Schiavo case as "a great political issue" for Republicans because "the pro-life base will be excited" and it "is a tough issue for Democrats." King also ignored the controversies surrounding Martinez's 2004 Senate campaign.

No surprise here....
After Macaca Allen and the Gay choir that is the Republican leadership, they had to get a straight, brown face up there with genuine religious right credentials.
The Latin community will accept Martinez's faith to be genuine, just because he is Latin.
But Martinez has shown himself willing to lie and cheat while posing as a good Christian. He's perfect for them.
I personally recieved push poll calls from the Martinez campaign in '04, blatantly accusing a good, decent, honest woman, Betty Castor, whom I know personally, of having ties to terrorists.
I reported the call to the news and the Martinez campaign alternated between denying it and saying, so what?
Martinez, the supposedly good Christian man, didn't care if he lied about a decent woman as long as he won.
In my book that makes him an immoral, unscrupulous liar - the perfect Bush acolyte.

What a loser. What an idiot. I was listening to his show when he said that. He was saying something like "Do we believe that?" He says that all of the time. He was saying that about Clinton saying he told Bush that his number one problem would be Bin Laden, which apparently he did. Everything bad done by Republicans is somehow the fault of the Democrats or some sort of Democratic ploy. And, of course, Mel Martinez, being a scumbag, blames it on his staffers, as he has done before, for other things, like the fliers against McCollum in the Republican primaries.
